skypeforlinux lacks dependencies, won't update

I have to admit though, after reading through the flatpak website about it, I still don't understand how it could overcome the dependency problem with the skypeforlinux

Recommended USB Headsets ?
Hi, we are looking to roll out PBX IN A Flash at our office. The first group will be using Soft Phones (X-Lite appears to be the best and works in Windows, Apple & Linux). There are many types of USB Headsets to choose from and a fairly broad price range. Is there any USB headsets people would recommend? I'm specifically interested in acceptable audio (speaker and microphone) quality

Intel HDA with Plantronics USB
I have a system that is using Intel HDA as its output, and a Plantronics USB headset as the microphone input. I would like to have my wine configuration emulate this setup, I currently have been unable to confirm that it isnt... I just cant get Steam to choose the plantronics headset as the default voice device (this is the goal). Would appreciate any insight!

Headsets for Cisco 7940/7960
What headsets have people found work well with the Cisco 7940 and 7960 phones? To date, I have tried a couple of the headsets within the Plantronics H series (H41-N), and noticed that the volume of my speaking is lower over the headset than on the regular handset. I am currently looking for headsets that are known to work well. I do know that Cisco lists the H-91 and H-101 as certified to

CentOS 7, skype ceased functioning
Hi, I have been using CentOS 7 on a laptop for a while now (about two years), using skypeforlinux all the time. After today's update, skype ceased to start as a service, as it used to be configured. It fails to start manually, e.g., it does start and is listed as a job, but it doesn't appear visible on the desktop. In the case you know something about it, please let us all know.

using Skype on C-7
Hi I've whined about this before, but now I feel the overwhelming urge to whine some more. Forgiveness begged... :) I've spent some very frustrating times trying to get a microphone to work when doing skype calls. According to the various sound tools available on Centos all the various mics I have (built into webcam, analog headset, USB headset)produce sound just fine. but when using

FW: Echo Cancellation
Hello, I am testing speex 1.1.6's echo canceller. I am using testecho.c, with a few modifications to get it to run on Windows. My problem is that I am unable to get the echo cancellation to work correctly. I am working on an audio conferencing software, and one issue we have is sometimes the microphone picks up what is being played through the headset, resulting in an echo of the other

Skype and Sound
I have installed Skype 4.0.0.8 on my new workstation running CentOS-6.3 (kvm) and the Gnome DTM. This host has an Intel DG43GT motherboard with on-board audio. The sound works when tested in the sound preferences in the desk top. Skype runs and the integrated usb video and microphone both work (I infer this from the mic test in Skype options showing movement on the intensity bar as I can hear

Plantronics and Snom RF feedback
Hey all, after hooking up some Plantronics to some Snom's (3 320's 1 360), I noticed my client is having some form of feed back on the phone. Because of Snom's "inner oddities" this is how I got it to work. Plantronic --> RJ11 --> SnomHandset Port (on Snom Base) Handset --> Plantronic jack (bottom base in the front) If I placed Plantronic(RJ11) --> Snom's

OT: Headset for Cisco 7960?
Sorry, I know it's OT, but does anyone know of a relatively inexpensive headset that is compatible with the Cisco 7960? I've tried the headset off Norstar phones, doesn't seem to work with or without the amp. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ | nate carlson | natecars@natecarlson.com | http://www.natecarlson.com | | depriving some poor

OT - Headsets for Cisco 7940/7960
This is Off-Topic for Asterisk, but I wanted to get some feedback on headsets for Cisco 7940/7960 phones. We have about 10-20 people who wants/needs a headset for their phone & was hoping to collect some real-world input. Thanks!!

USB headsets?
Hi, What USB headset would you recomend? We have some laptop soundcards that are really bad and I would be glad if you could share your experiences when changing to a USB headset instead of using the built in soundcard in your computer. Thanks! Regards, Jan
