FreeIPA + samba 4, any news?
Hi people, I'm trying to move from windows PDC to samba, and I'm waiting a bit until samba 4 gets a little more mature. What I also want to use is FreeIPA as I need an LDAP+Kerberos environment not only for samba but also for the rest of the services. Here is where I quite don't know really what is in samba's developers mind, so I don't know if I can use samba's ldap for

truncated normal
Hi, I want to generate random samples from truncated normal say Normal(0,1)Indicator((0,1),(2,4)). It has more than one intervals. In the library msm, it seems to me that the 'lower' and 'upper' arguments can only be a number. I tried rtnorm(1,mean=0,sd=1, lower=c(0,2),upper=c(1,4)) and it didn't work. Can you tell me how I can do truncated normal at more than one intervals?

coordinated NIS and LDAP servers
Hello listmates, We are currently running NIS for authentication but would like to migrate to LDAP. Thing is, though, that some of the machines that authenticate via NIS are so old I'd rather not even touch them. Hence the question - is there a good way to have an NIS server for user authentication that is a mirror image of an LDAP server, with a proviso that an update introduced there is

Suppose i want to compute a 95% highest density for a beta distribution beta(a,b) the two end points x1 and x2 shoudl satisfy the following two equations: pbeta(x1,a,b)-pbeta(x2,a,b)=95% dbeta(x1,a,b)=dbeta(x2,a,b) Is there any fast way to compute x1 and x2 in R? Gluster text file configuration information?
Where can I find documentation about manual configuration of Gluster peers/volumes? All documentation seems to be about the gluster CLI. I would prefer manual configuration to facilitate automation via scripts (e.g. Puppet/Chef). I also read in this list that it is possible to configure Raid10 via text files... I would also like to experiment with this setup. Any related documents on how to do

Segmentation Fault when trying to set root samba password, IPA as a backend
Hi This is samba-4.2.3-11.el7_2.x86_64 on CentOS... I'm trying to setup a Samba NT4 domain, with FreeIPA as a backend... Right now everything works.. except that I need a Domain Adminstrator... smbpasswd -a root, segfaults... probably because the user doesn't exist in FreeIPA If I create the root user in FreeIPA, it instead gives: [root at bart samba]# LANG=en smbpasswd -a root No

firewalld services to open for an ADDC
Hai, If you use that or the AD, then its incomplete, imo. Your missing ldaps (636) and the GC (ssl) 3268/3269) ports and maybe NTP (123/tcp) if installed. Maybe you dont need them, just an observation. [PATCH server] add server-side groundwork for remote freeipa server
This lays 90% of the groundwork needed on the server side to support the use of a remote ipa server. Leaving the option disabled in the installer until the necessary node integration(dns/keytab placementi location) is completed Also apply: [PATCH server] update ovirt-add-host to use ipa commands instead of kadmin.local [PATCH server] separate ipa common tasks freeipa::common and rename

firewalld services to open for an ADDC
I tried the following firewall-cmd --add-service=dns --permanent firewall-cmd --add-service=samba --permanent firewall-cmd --reload But was not able to connect until I disabled the iptables via iptables -P INPUT ACCEPT iptables -F then I was able to connect my windows 10 pro to my domain. So my question is what services or ports am I missing to open?

DUNDi precache
Does anyone have any information on how to use DUNDi precaching? Mark Spencer made a post 2 years ago where he hinted it may be possible to configure DUNDi such that you could centralise your DUNDi registration info by using precaching, instead of having each DUNDi peer meshed with every other one... http://lists.digium.com/pipermail/dundi/2004-October/000189.html However, it seems that no

can't login as subsequent FreeIPA users
When I set up a machine with CentOS 8, I used the "Enterprise Login" in the initial setup wizard to authenticate against my FreeIPA server. This worked fine, and I have no issues logging in with that initial user. However, I am unable to use GDM or the console to login as any *other* valid user from FreeIPA. From GDM I get something like "Sorry, that didn't work" and

FreeIPA
doing some googling, this seems to be about the most current/relevant thing I have found wrt to running freeipa server on CentOS http://howtoforge.com/how-to-build-rhel-ipa-rpms-for-centos-5 which I'm not totally adverse to doing but I have to ask, is there something packaged? (I've looked in 'testing' and in 'extras' and in epel) Has anyone followed some other
