what is the centos/elrepo policy toward LTS kernels?
i'm sure there's a simple answer to this -- i already understand
that newer kernels than the ones shipped with the official release
aren't officially supported but there is the elrepo kernel repository
here:
http://elrepo.org/linux/kernel/el7/x86_64/RPMS/
with a mixture of long-term (lt) and mainline (ml) kernels. i assume
that the mainline kernels pretty closely track the latest

Chromium on CentOS 6
I have chromium installed on CentOS 7 and it works fine, I now need to install it on a CentOS 6 workstation. However, it is not available in EPEL as it is for C 7. From what I understand, this is because it is already available in a supplementary channel from RHEL for C 6.
Is this the recommended method for installing it on C 6?

Markdown editor for CentOS 7?
Hi,
I recently discovered Markdown, and I'm currently using it to write some
documentation for CentOS 7.
https://github.com/kikinovak/formation-linux
For the time being, I'm using my good old Vim editor for writing it. I
turned off syntax highlighting, since this produces random results with
Markdown.
Pages are correctly displayed on Github, but in order to see them, I

centos courseware?
does anyone here have pointers or access to courseware that could be
used to teach centos (5.4, i believe)? publicly-available, free C/W
would, of course, be ideal, but if you have some decent training
manuals that you're willing to license on a per-manual basis, i'm
still willing to chat.

CentOS 7, systemd, NetworkMangler, oh, my
Too much temptation to resist, I don't know which one of us is older but I have a feeling it's a "horse race". Like you, I still have a land line, WiFi is too slow and "WiFi security" seems to be an oxymoronic phrase. Why people text (or IM for that matter) anything other than a one-liner is beyond me.
Now for the real issue, what happens when Network Manager

Doubt in Syslinux with PXE server with boot ISO image
HI all,
I set up a PXE server by following the following howto (
http://www.tecmint.com/install-pxe-network-boot-server-in-centos-7/ ) is
working but I noticed him running I need the CD in one repository http
or nfs.
because it is necessary to have everything in ISO image? it is possible
to boot an ISO by the network as I do with the CD or DVD?
Regards.

Hardening Apache on CentOS 7
Hi,
Some time ago one of my public servers (running Slackware64 14.0) got
attacked and was misused to send phishing emails.
This misadventure made me more concerned about security, so I spent the
last few weeks catching up on security, reading docs about SELinux and
how to use it, etc.
I have a public sandbox server running CentOS 7, and I'm currently
experimenting quite a lot with Apache

Does that imply that I should abandon VLC or just rpmfusion?
