Issues with NVidia video driver and CentOS
We do have the elrepo drivers installed. Maybe part of the problem is also that we're using an IOgear KVM switch? CO 7.7.1908 Updates not getting to mirrors?
I *know* there has been a lot going on, and congratulations on getting CentOS 8 out! But(!), I don't see any updates to CO 7.7.1908 in the "updates" directory on the mirrors I typically use. All the files date from Sept. 14th. Is something broken? -- *Matt Phelps* *Information Technology Specialist, Systems Administrator* (Computation Facility, Smithsonian Astrophysical

nfs stuck, don't know what processes to kill
My NFS server is up and other clients can access x. One particular client can't. I tried to unmount the NFS share: [root at nfsclient ~]# umount -f /disk/x umount2: Device or resource busy umount.nfs: /disk/x: device is busy umount2: Device or resource busy umount.nfs: /disk/x: device is busy If I use df or lsof to try to figure out what process to kill, they hang. Update from 6.6 to 6.7 > automount logs error message
Hello, after an update from 6.6 to 6.7 the following error message is logged to /var/log/messages when I login (per ssh): Aug 11 16:31:21 a1234 automount[1598]: set_tsd_user_vars: failed to get passwd info from getpwuid_r Checked all log-files of my systems running 6.6 with same configuration -- never got such a message (We use NFS/autofs for home-directories, NIS and tcsh (login shell)).

RHEL 7.8 is out
This is not your usual "so when is CO 7.8.xxxx coming out?" posts. I'm just curious if the CentOS team is affected by our current world conditions, or is work-from-home modus operandi for the team? ghostscript update breaks evince
Today's ghostscript.x86_64 0:8.70-21.el6_8.1 update causes evince to refuse to display any postscript file. Running evince from a terminal session, I see the errors: invalidaccess -7 invalidaccess -7 invalidaccess -7 ** (evince:1252): WARNING **: Error rendering thumbnail Downgrading to ghostscript.x86_64 0:8.70-21.el6 corrects the problem. Enterprise Linux Slack
To be honest Freenode is nice and I'd be sad to see it replaced with anything. So cool to be a "/join #project" away from getting help. If we go Mattermost, can we have a searchable public archive of the chats? Something search engines can index and we can point people to? -- Sent from the Delta quadrant using Borg technology! Issues with NVidia video driver and CentOS
I'm trying to reinstall the elrepo drivers. Removed the existing elrepo drivers Downloaded the following elrepo drivers: nvidia-x11-drv-304xx-304.135-1.el6.elrepo.x86_64.rpm kmod-nvidia-304xx-304.135-1.el6.elrepo.x86_64.rpm nvidia-x11-drv-304xx-32bit-304.135-1.el6.elrepo.x86_64.rpm that first one appears to have a dependency on "NVidia-x11-drv-304xx = 304.135" and I can't find

CentOS 7 and 4K display
I installed C7 along with MATE desktop... My monitor is a 4K unit but when I goto the System -> preferences -> hardware -> Displays there is selection for the 4K display. It stops at 1920x1080. The var log x file shows the 4K resolutions in the file so that is good. How do I get the selections for 4K to show up? Thanks, Jerry
