apcupsd-3.14.14
Hello,
Looking for a apcupsd 3.14.14 rpm.
Been getting communication lost errors. I read there was a problem with the
3.14.12 version regarding a usb connection which I'm using, but has been
corrected in 3.14.14.
I found a Fedora 25 Rawhide src version, but the link must be bad. Was
hoping I could rebuild it for Cento 6.
Looks like apcupsd no longer producing the rpms.
I could build one

apcupsd
Here's an odd one: I installed apcupsd, and it works with most of our
UPSs. I'd swear it worked on this one. Then I replaced the Gin-u-wine APC
batteries, which were dead, with new ones, non-APC. They're just dumb
batteries, no chips or whatever on them.
If I hook it up using a serial cable, I can get info. If I hook it up the
way I had it, with APC's weird USB cable - and this is

APCUPSD port 3551 permission problem
I need a little help on this problem, please? I include

Anyone else around using apcupsd? I seem to be seeing a problem, and I'd
like someone to check me on it: I edit /etc/apcupsd/apccontrol to replace
the value of SHUTDOWN from /sbin/shutdown to /bin/false (we don't want 3
or 6 servers shutting down over a 2 second or so blip, which it really
wants to do).
What's happened is that a machine shut down the other day, and looking at
it, I

Windows NUT shutdown UPS?
I was wondering what you guys do about UPS shutdown on Windows systems?
Apcupsd has the same issue, so I'm assuming it is the same with NUT.
Windows just makes it hard/impossible to do.
Do you find draining the batteries down so much cause issues for longevity?
Regarding my Eaton 5110, I found that automatic driver setup works just
fine on Windows XP but not at all on Windows 7 x64 (I

Back to apcupsd
Ok, so another apc UPS 3000 complained about bad batteries, and I changed
them out from the same order that I'd gotten in a couple of months ago.
The APC SmartUPS 3000 started connecting and disconnecting the USB
connection. I brought down and up the service, no joy.
Finally, after googling, I found a *completely* undocumented way to start
apcupsd, that a few years ago someone was told to

ordered shutdown
Hallo there.
I'm new to this list and also to NUT.
Our previous ups-system was APC based and apcupsd was serving the ordered shutdowns in our network.
Our new ups is made by MGE and that's why we can't use apcupsd anymore. This led us into trouble.
Our network system is quite complex and we need shutdown sequence levels. The servers depend on each other because of NFS and SQL

apcupsd, odd behavior
As we have every day, we had a power blip overnight. one, at least, of the
servers connected to a SmartUPS via cable, announced that "power
exhausted, initiating shutdown" (which I've disabled).
The thing is, I know the servers on that UPS draw a ridiculous amount of
power, but I don't see that on the others... and this was three seconds,
not minutes, after it announced there

Shutdown/poweroff does not power off machine
I've got a Dell Optiplex GX240 I am running CentOS 5.4
(kernel 2.6.18-164.9.1.el5.centos.plus)... When I had Fedora 11 and 12 on
it, I could issue a poweroff command and the machine would power itself off.
However, under CentOS it doesn't turn the machine off whatsoever. When it
completes, the machine is still running with a message of "system halted."
Then I have to

apcupsd, APC UPSs, and batteries, resolved
Well, here's the tale: we got a "replacement kit" for some APC SmartUPS
3000 - rackmount UPSs. The "kit", costing about half of what APC is
asking, is just the batteries, and you pull the tray out, open it up, and
swap out the batteries. Except, I did this on one... and the replace
battery light never went out. Not using apcupsd's apctest, not pushing the
button. The

Shutdown/Poweroff
Is there a good source of information about how Linux distributions
and installers identify and interact with the hardware devices in
a system?? We are particularly interested in the shutdown process
that leads to complete power-off.? Thanks.

Selftest intervall, APC Smart-UPS 750 RM
Hello
I recently switched from apcupsd to NUT2.2.2 without
any troubles.
I tried to figure out how I can configure the self-test
intervall. The command upsrw lists only the variables
battery.charge.low
battery.runtime.low
ups.delay.shutdown
ups.delay.start
The command usbhid-ups -D and the listing under

Distinguishing between host and guest initiated VM shutdown
Hi,
we have a problem in oVirt that highly available VMs don't restart after
host poweroff because Vdsm identifies the case as a user initiated
shutdown (https://bugzilla.redhat.com/1800966).
When poweroff is run on the host, libvirt-guests service takes an
action. `virsh shutdown' is run on the VM, the guest OS is shut down
cleanly and libvirt reports a shutdown event with

Centos 6.1, BNT400AP and immediate shutdown of ups
I'm new to the list.
Hello.
I just googled and tried some general news lists.
There is hard to compose good question to google, cause shutdown and
poweroff are standard ups jobs.
Then.
I've upgraded some computer Centos 5.3 to Centos 6.1.
It is powered with Powercom BNT-400AP ups.
A problem is, when I try to start upsdriver - powercom.
While connecting to the ups (via ttyS) it

CentOS 6.4 login after reboot after apcupsd shutdown - shows POWER FAILURE
Hi list,
just putting a new server through its automatic shutdown triggered by
the UPS / apcupsd.
All worked faultlessly, including powering up when power came back on to
the UPS.
So then I go to log in and get "POWER FAILURE" followed by
"Authentication failure" - this is on the console
via SSH I just get "POWER FAILURE" and the ssh connection drops.
So I guess

ups poweroff with cyberpower text protocol
Hi,
shutting down my CyberPower OP500TE doesn't seem to work.
Does anyone know if it is possible? (if not I will just change the
shutdown script as suggested in the faq, but it would be nice to do the
proper way).
Thanks,
Anton

APC Back-UPS CS 500 power cycle
Hello,
we have a problem using APC Back-UPS CS 500 (connected via USB,
usbhid-ups-apc) and UPS-NUT. We've tried different Versions of UPS-NUT
(2.2.1 and 2.2.2), including the latest from SVN (28th November 2008).
We've also tried apcupsd, which works fine for our requirements, but we
don't want use it.
What we need is simple: The UPS should turn off after power loss and
shutdown
