[RESEND PATCH v2 9/9] ath5k: Constify ioreadX() iomem argument (as in generic implementation)
The ioreadX() helpers have inconsistent interface. On some architectures void *__iomem address argument is a pointer to const, on some not. Implementations of ioreadX() do not modify the memory under the address so they can be converted to a "const" version for const-safety and consistency among architectures. Madwifi drivers afeter 2.6.18-128.
I have a atheros wiifi card on my Centos 5 that I use as a access point using hostapd. I noticed that after the upgrade to kernel 2.6.18-128 or above, the atheros driver comes with the kernel, ath5k, and it does?t let hostpad ou iwconfig set master mode on the card. Up to kernel 2.6.18-92 is workedd just fine using madwifi from rpmforge. Any ideas on that? Tks.

Semi-OT: hardware: NVidia proprietary driver, C7.4
This is really frustrating. I've got a server with two K20c Tesla cards. I need to use the proprietary drivers to use the CUDA toolkit. Btw, I had no trouble at all with building for CentOS 7.3 I have what NVidia claims is the correct driver package, a 340 series. It appears to build, but then fails to load. The only error I see is "no such device", which makes no sense to me, esp.

Software Updater issue
Hey All, Heads up! For some reason the Software Updater thought it would be interesting for me if it upgraded my nvidia 304 driver with the nvidia 310.32-1 driver. That would be nice if the 310 driver supported my crusty old GS 7600 but it doesn't. I had to run two yum downgrade sessions to get it back to working again. First downgrade brought me 310.19-2, which doesn't support

A Request to Add module to CentOS Linux (3.10.0-1127.18.2.el7.x86_64) 7 (Core)
Hi Phil, Not sure if you've had time to look at this? As mentioned middleware, like docker-ce, is preventing us from moving to el8. Thanks Dan On Fri, Sep 11, 2020 at 10:33 PM Dedoep <stompnoe at gmail.com> wrote: > Hi Phil, ok that's great thanks. > I have a colleague working through vroc/fake raid issues we're having > when using

Upgrading 5.5 to 5.8 with yum?
Good afternoon, I've been running a CentOS 5.5 system for a while using some Nvidia drivers for an older Nvidia card (GeForce 6200 card). I'd like to upgrade to 5.8 using yum but I was curious if anyone has done this using yum? Any gotchas? (I can handle the Nvidia upgrade part once the system is upgraded). Thanks! Jeff BTW - I'm using driver 256.35 and looking at Nvidia's

xorg updates hose GUI with Nvidia driver
Just a heads up that once again an xorg update has removed the link in /usr/lib64/xorg/modules/extensions that points to libglx.so.325.15 in /usr/lib64/xorg/modules/extensions/nvidia thus breaking X. This should only effect those with nvidia proprietary driver. One of the following packages is the culprit but I have not tried to narrow it down. I have done updates and downgrades several

Update from el7.4 to el7.5 broke samba 4.6.14
Hi all, After upgrading my first Samba AD DC from el7.4 to el7.5, I had the pain of being greeted with a non-fonctional Samba. When I used samba-tool, I was greeted with that message: root at dc00 ~]# samba-tool dbcheck ldb: module version mismatch in ../source4/dsdb/samdb/ldb_modules/acl.c : ldb_version=1.2.2 module_version=1.1.29 ldb: failed to initialise module /usr/lib64/samba/ldb/acl.so :
