Mirroring centos.org
Ok, that sounds a little more elegant.
Does that delete switch delete those files after download, or does it stop
it from downloading at all?

Password protected R Repository
Hi,
I've set up a very simple R repository. Just a single source
library. Everything works fine. I can install the package on my client
using:
install.packages(repos='http://www.myServer.se/myRepo/',
pkgs='myLib', dep=TRUE)
However, I want to protect the repo, so I use a
.htaccess, placed directly under 'myRepo' on the server. I use
'Authentication Basic' and

Extract rows from a matrix according to value in column
Dear helpers,
I'm trying to extract certain rows from a matrix according to the
values the rows have in a certain column. I've been googling for a
while without result.
Here's a reproducible example of a matrix (and the one I was playing
with initially):

Use EPEL without redirection ?
Hi,
Is there any way to deactivate the redirection to a mirror when using
the third-party EPEL repository ?
Our network uses a transparent HTTP/HTTPS proxy with a local AC. We can
create exceptions for sites like centos.org or
download.fedoraproject.org, but whenever we want to install a package
from EPEL, the mirror redirection causes an error due to redirection.
Any suggestions ?

backups and md5 all in one while splitting
I'm trying to back up our svn repositories, and I found a nice little
backup command line bzip's the backup and creates the md5 hash all in one:
svnadmin dump --deltas /repo |bzip2 |tee dump.bz2 | md5sum >dump.md5
The problem is I need to split the backups, so this doesn't really
work. Is there perhaps another way of piping things to allow for
splitting of the backups?

source a script file straight from a subversion repository
Hi useRs
I'm trying to figure out how to source
an R script file straight from a subversion
repository, without having to put a copy
of the script into the local working directory.
Has anyone done this?
Something such as
source(file = paste("svn://myrepo.xxx.org/opt/svn/repos/",
"/Projects/SMcode/tags/v1.0/SMfuns.R",
sep = ""))

Issues with NVidia video driver and CentOS
We do have the elrepo drivers installed. Maybe part of the problem is also
that we're using an IOgear KVM switch?

Issues with NVidia video driver and CentOS
I'm having issues with a quad video card on CentOS.
We have several systems on CentOS 6.8 and CentOS 6.9. The installed
hardware is:
Video card - Nvidia NVS quadro 440
PC - Dell OptiPlex 9020
Whenever you update the kernel, it kills the graphical interface. The
system appears to lock up and freeze during a reboot, but you can still get
into it with SSH, or, if you're at the console,

update samba help to download
i have full speed from the mirror, it is samba.org that is unusable to me
the mirror is outdated by many version as you should know look at 4.9. you
see is only 15.
I jest viewed email from someone at samba saying they changed the rsync to
ssl only, and the mirrors were told couple weeks before all around that
time so it seem many mirrors not bothered to change so will stay outdated
for ever

VncHeadlessInstall
I just read the
http://wiki.centos.org/TipsAndTricks/VncHeadlessInstall, and it was
easy to follow and worked like a charm, I wasn't aware of the anaconda
stuff...
And a suggestion: could the fact that the netboot iso is just 9 megs
big be emphasise... and maybee link to
http://wiki.centos.org/HowTos/CreateLocalRepos as a tips to save
bandwith net installs?

Allowing non-root users to reboot a workstation
I would like to be able to allow regular users that don't have admin
privileges to be able to reboot their workstation. (they're software
developers so rebooting their workstation doesn't affect anybody else)
I tried changing the ownership of /sbin/reboot and /sbin/shutdown to
root:users and permissions to 550, but that didn't work - it's still asking
for root privileges.

CentOS 6.10 bind DNSSEC issues
Hi,
??? Anyone else had any issues with CentOS 6.10 bind DNS server issues
this afternoon.
At 16:26 (GMT) had alerts for DNS failures against our CentOS 6.10 bind
DNS servers
from our monitoring system.
Sure enough DNS requests via the server was failing, checking the
named.log showed
dnssec issues;

As John said, you are mistaken:

/bin/sh
/bin/sh
/bin/sh
/bin/sh
/bin/sh
/sbin/ldconfig
/usr/bin/python
config(nvidia-x11-drv-304xx) = 304.135-1.el6.elrepo
