Ok so I looked for yum in cron and did not find it.
cd /etc
# grep yum cron*
grep: cron.d: Is a directory
grep: cron.daily: Is a directory
grep: cron.hourly: Is a directory
grep: cron.monthly: Is a directory
grep: cron.weekly: Is a directory
# grep yum cron*/*
and the files:
ls -lR cron.*

cron.daily and others, not running
Hello there,
I've just noticed that scripts in /etc/cron.{daily,weekly,...} are not
launched for several weeks (I noticed a `locate` not finding a recently
added binary). Exactly, it's since June 02, and `# service cron status`
says:
Redirecting to /bin/systemctl status crond.service
* crond.service - Command Scheduler
Loaded: loaded (/usr/lib/systemd/system/crond.service; enabled;

You don't say, but if this is CentOS 7, then cron.daily/weekly/monthly
is run using anacron, not cron.
It's configured in /etc/anacrontab and is usually run once a day by the
script /etc/cron.hourly/0anacron - cron.hourly is still run by cron.
If the script doesn't exist, then

Re: Fw: Install problems on fresh F10
I did post to ovirt-devel but I am not a registered user, so a moderator need to review my posting before it becomes available.
I will register, but right now I only have a few seconds to spare.
I try to add use "Add Virtual Machine" but the "Storage" is empty. My iSCSI and NFS storage says "State: pending_setup". What am I doing wrong?
Sincerely,

cron clarification
What is the ramifications to simply placing scripts in the /etc/cron.hourly directory as opposed to actually adding jobs via the crontab -e method?
Is there any significance to using one method versus the other?
Thanks!

6.4 : How to enable epel and the rpmfusions??
I've installed 6.4 on an old T30 ThinkPad, and I'm
in the midst of setting it up. I can't seem to get an rpm of Pan for it,
nor even to do yum update.
Mousing around fedoraproject eventually got me to http://
rpmfusion.org/Configuration/ and from there to downloads for the free,
nonfree, and epel packages (along with a caveat that tells you -- *after*

Historical Data related to CPU,IO and Memory
Hi,
Are there any utilities or tools to look at historical data of Memory, CPU
Utilization or IO activity on CentOS 6.4 or 5.9 Version? For example the
how much the memory was consumed for the period of last six months.

Centos 6 - vnc - authentication is required to set the network proxy used for downloading packages
A window keeps popping up on my remote desktop stating "authentication is
required to set the network proxy used for downloading packages. An
application is attempting to perform an action that requires privileges.
Authentication as the super user is required to perform this action" and asking
for the root password. If I hit cancel it comes back several minutes later.
