$HOME variable not set from init script
Hi,
I'm using Centos 4.4 with: mimedefang.org + spamassassin.org
Mimedefang(MD) is a perl program that calls SpamAssassin(SA) perl module.
The problem I'm getting is that from update 4.4, SA does not seems
to find the $HOME variable only when it is called during system boot.
If you later login as root and run:
$ service mimedefang restart
then SA does indeed find the $HOME variable

Milters work a little different under postfix IIRC... I haven't tried

Advice on partitioning a Dell MD1200 disk array
Hi,
I've just got possession of a Dell PE R720 with 2 MD1200 disk
enclosures.
Both MD1200 are fully populated with 12 x 3 TB disks
The system will basically be a student file-server running CentOS 6.x
serving various size files from small c programs to multi gigabyte
audio and video files over GB ethernet.
The first MD1200 will be configured as the NFS disk. The requirements
are for 6

Setting up BackupPC on CentOS-7
I am interested in understanding the thing with BackupPC.
What does it have compared to basic rsync?
- It has a webui
Is it like a central backup server? if so, how it works with windows
clients(if it is?)
Just want to make sure.. I understood right.
Why did you choose this over other software?
Thanks,
Eliezer

Sendmail + Deliver as an LDA
Need help with setup/config.
Current situation: (dovecot version : 1.1.7)
we have system users and virtual users. (with different domains)
Virtual users have procmail as LDA
Now we want "deliver" to become the LDA
I'm confused reading http://wiki.dovecot.org/LDA/Sendmail
sendmail.mc:

divert(0)dnl
include(`/usr/share/sendmail-cf/m4/cf.m4')dnl

Setting up BackupPC on CentOS-7
I'd be interested in any corrections or comments
on the following instructions (basically for myself):
We assume that BackupPC has been installed:
sudo yum install BackupPC
1. BackupPC must be run by the user backuppc.
Accordingly the lines
User apache
Group apache
in /etc/httpd/conf/httpd.conf should be changed to
User backuppc
Group backuppc
2. The user backuppc must be able to

Upgraded BackupPC (3.0.0) in the Testing Repository
There is an upgraded BackupPC in the testing repository. It is version
3.0.0, which was released in January.
The setup differences between version 2.1.2 and this version is that
some file directories have shifted locations:
1. /var/lib/backuppc/conf is now instead /etc/BackupPC/
2. /var/lib/backuppc/log is now /var/log/BackupPC

BackupPC newbie: a couple more questions
1. I'm running - or trying to run - BackupPC under Centos-5.2,
and have been looking at various BackupPC HOWTOs and tutorials.
I see that the "Falko" tutorial at <http://www.howtoforge.com/linux_backuppc>
recommends (on page 3) that one should enter one's username,
"falko" in this case, as the user in /etc/BackupPC/hosts .
Other tutorials suggest one should use

Overlaying graphs from different datasets with ggplot
Dear R-users,
I recently began using the ggplot2 package and I am still in the process of
getting used to it.
My goal would be to plot on the same grid a number of curves derived from
two distinct datasets. The first dataset (called molten.data) looks like
this :
Column names : Perc, Week, Weight
P10 21 333.3554
P90 21 486.0480
P10 22 452.6347
P90 22 563.8263
P10 23 575.0960

rsync stalls -- sleeps indefinetly
Dear Developers
First of all I would love to thank you for a nice tool
I had been using rsync within backuppc project to backup my remote
hosts. It had been working fine until the moment (as I think) whenever I
moved RAID to another box and now the source directory
(/raid/research) is now actually NFS mounted. Now backup (rsync
process) stalls and sleeps indefinitely

RAID configuration suggestion???
we have several DELL R900 with PERC 6/E adapter in it. R900 using Redhat Linux. Each R900 have two PERC 6/E adapter and at least two MD1000 connect to it.
Configuration 1:
PERC 6/E -- two MD1000
PERC 6/E -- empty
Configuration 2:
PERC 6/E -- MD1000
PERC 6/E -- MD1000
Normally first MD1000 for database and second MD1000 for nightly backup. My
