Ok that's what I figured Ive narrowed it down to Plymouth but I haven't found much info on what the fix is. As of now I can ctl alt f2 and run startx to get to a desktop. When I try to run gui (such as keepnote or chromium) from within my vms now tho I get errors. Not understanding. At what point in the boot process should I be doing that and why would I need to do that at all? Seems like it's something wrong with the Plymouth and plymouth-scirpt packages....I uninstalled them and rebooted I didn't get stuck in a loop but I didn't have a gui. I reinstalled and I'm back at the Plymouth wait error. On Thu, Nov 16, 2017, 4:55 PM Gordon Messmer

Counting question
Hi All, Here is something that sounds simple, but I'm having trouble getting it. I have a data frame with two columns, the first is date and the second is employee ID. I'd like to plot date on the horizontal axis, employee ID on the vertical axis, and the number of times the employee appears for the given date as a color. I've kluged something where I make a table (table(date, id))

No, plymouth is the process that controls the booting process. It is not the problem. It is doing exactly what it's supposed to be doing - waiting for a process to finish before going on to its next task.

CentOS 6.4 installation fails with message "No usable disks have been found"
Hi folks, I inherited a very old computer (I guess about 8 years old) which I'd like to use for some training on CentOS. I downloaded images for CentOS 6.4 i386 (DVD 1 and 2) and burned them onto discs. After inserting DVD 1 into drive and booting, on the "Welcome to CentOS 6.4!" screen I select "Install or upgrade an existing system". I then skip the media test and

CentOS 7 + GNOME : all icon themes broken after update from CR
Hi, I just upgraded one of my CentOS 7 + GNOME desktops from the CR repo. After the upgrade, it seems like all of the icon themes are broken. Missing icons everywhere. Any idea what's going on here ? Thanks
Thanks for the help guys. To resize my screen I had to go through the GUI part and change it but unlike Microsoft it makes me reboot in order for it to take affect which sucks. The Ctrl Alt +/- does not work. As for adding a printer someone finally gave me the link to the correct document which showed how to do it. I received a link where you can download the CentOS manual in PDF format:

Query an Access database based on a date attribute
Dear useRs, I would like to query an Access database through R based on a date attribute but, unfortunately, I fail to do so. For example, the table test_table of the test.mdb looks like: ID cd market competitor dd price 1 1 2007-11-20 atl-bos delta 2007-11-20 210 2 2 2007-11-20 atl-bos delta 2007-11-21 190 3 3 2007-11-20 atl-bos delta 2007-11-22

R: Query an Access database based on a date attribute
It seems that Access needs that you surround the dates with a # symbol. You probably need something like. res <- sqlQuery(channel, "select * from test_table where market = 'atl-bos' and competitor = 'delta' and dd = #2007-11-20#") Hope this helps, Stefano -----Messaggio originale----- Da: r-help-bounces at r-project.org [mailto:r-help-bounces at r-project.org]Per

VNC server issue- Gnome - oh no! Something has gone wrong
Hi All, The other thing we have noticed after booting is, screen is completely blank. GUI is not visible on attached monitor. We tried switching between different terminals using (Ctl+Alt+F1-12). F2-6 are showing command line terminals but, others are returning blank screen only. It appears that, there is some problem with GUI/gnome. Is there any way to fix this? Please help. Regards Hersh On
