similar to: gnome boot problem

Ok that's what I figured Ive narrowed it down to Plymouth but I haven't found much info on what the fix is. As of now I can ctl alt f2 and run startx to get to a desktop. When I try to run gui (such as keepnote or chromium) from within my vms now tho I get errors. Not understanding. At what point in the boot process should I be doing that and why would I need to do that at all? Seems like it's something wrong with the Plymouth and plymouth-scirpt packages....I uninstalled them and rebooted I didn't get stuck in a loop but I didn't have a gui. Hi All, Here is something that sounds simple, but I'm having trouble getting it. I have a data frame with two columns, the first is date and the second is employee ID. I'd like to plot date on the horizontal axis, employee ID on the vertical axis, and the number of times the employee appears for the given date as a color. No, plymouth is the process that controls the booting process. It is not the problem. It is doing exactly what it's supposed to be doing - waiting for a process to finish before going on to its next task.

Thanks for the help guys. To resize my screen I had to go through the GUI part and change it but unlike Microsoft it makes me reboot in order for it to take affect which sucks. The Ctrl Alt +/- does not work. As for adding a printer someone finally gave me the link to the correct document which showed how to do it. It seems that Access needs that you surround the dates with a # symbol. Hi All, The other thing we have noticed after booting is, screen is completely blank. GUI is not visible on attached monitor. We tried switching between different terminals using (Ctl+Alt+F1-12). F2-6 are showing command line terminals but, others are returning blank screen only. It appears that, there is some problem with GUI/gnome. Is there any way to fix this? Please help. Regards Hersh On
