I grabbed a new SSD M4-CT064M4SSD2 from Crucial. I am disappointed. I stuck the unit in an Atom machine (zotac) with CentOS 6 on the disk. It really doesn't "feel" faster than the previous 5400 RPM drive that was in it. In this summer, I tried to add swap_cgroup_id only for mem+swap controller but commenters said "please provide "id and lookup" in cgroup layer, it should be useful." And I agree them. I just replaced my drives for Dovecot using Maildir format with a pair of Solid State Drives (SSD) in a raid 0 configuration. It's really really fast. Kind of expensive but it's like getting 20x the speed for 20x the price. I think the big gain is in the 0 seek time. Here's what I bought.
