Re: vnc client for libvirt from os x?
os x comes with openssh, and some other nixy goodness. the rest you
can get at brew.sh.
when i ssh -Y into the host, ill just virt-manager or virt-viewer, but
the x server on os x comes with some baggage and silly annoyances like
"helpfully" trapping the mouse with a release combo thats hard to deal
with from os x. running a vnc client over os x would still come with
baggage and

VNC on Optimus systems (is|may be) broken
Hello!
I'm investigating a case where x11vnc (or RealVNC server or vino) on a
_real_ X11 server seems to be broken with any VNC viewer.
By broken I mean: it seems to keep old frames in memory, in such a way
that in every three frames, two are from the past and one is the
current one.
This is easily spotted when using gnome-shell and looking at the clock
at the top. Besides being

Any idea on how to install a hvm on a remote system. -- unable to open display
Hi
I''m been trying to install an xvm instance on a remote system, but I
keep running into variations on ''unable to open display''
I''ve tried to use ssh -X but I''ve not been able to get it to forward
when su''d to root.
1) ssh -X -l xadmin virtbox
running cload etc works fine.

XCP 1.1.0 - how to use VNC for installing guest domains?
Hello,
Is it required to install an additional VNC server on XCP 1.1.0 dom0 box
(ip 192.168.1.50)to get access to VNC-windows for installing domU guests?
As I don''t use m$ / XenCenter so I need VNC for installation of new guests.
The VM is running (s. below) *but* I was not able to open VNC window to
continue the installation (s. error message further below)

SSH - VNC - Shorewall
Hi,
I''m struggling with a simple problem and need some help.
I have a remote XP laptop connecting with SSH to my linux firewall (RH9,
kernel 2.6) and creating a tunnel to port 5995 on the firewall. So now
traffic going from the laptop localhost port 5902 is tunnelled to my
firewall port 5995. That''s working fine.
On my local network I have an XP box I want to control with

Xen Store error : out of memory
Hi,
I''m running snv84 on a SunFire x2200M2, 2 dualcore opterons, 8GB ram, 2 mirror sata disks (zfs).
I tried to install both Ubuntu 7.1 Desktop and Fedora 8 into a HVM domU but failed everytime.
The VNC-Server for the domU dies, but the domain still consumes CPU time, disks go idle after a while (zpool iostat or iostat show zero I/O). The domUs booted up fine, the installer started,

VNC on Optimus systems (is|may be) broken
On an optimus system, the display is normally driven by the intel GPU.
What makes you suspect nouveau is involved at all?

getting opensolaris b85 domU to start
Folks:
I am unable to get my opensolaris sn-b85 domU to start up in an
opensolaris sn-b85 dom0. I am booted to xvm. Other systems, such as
Fedora 8, WinXP Pro, W2k3 server, W2k8 server and Windows Vista startup
normally.
I have used the following to build the domU:
# mkfile -n 25g /solhvm/solhvm.img
# ls -l /solhvm

SHIFT+F10 behaving strangely after moving to 3.2 from 3.1
Since upgrading to 3.2.1 from 3.1.2 (both Debian produced packages from
Lenny), I can no longer use SHIFT+F10 to open up a command line screen
under Windows when doing an install.
It appears that only the F10 key is reaching the DOM0, not the shift
key. Shift otherwise works fine, exception in combination with F10...

HVM creation problem
Hi,
I''m kinda new to XEN stuff, and I''ve been trying to create a fully virtualized guest on CentOS 5.3 for almost 3 months and no luck yet. I approached this process through several methods, one with virt-install and creating config file manually.
Following is what happens when I try to create a guest, and I have included qemu-dm and last part of xend.log logs below too.

VNC console only shows black screen on HVM guest running on Xen 4.1 with Ubuntu 12.04 as Dom0
Hello all,
I have a problem getting a working VNC console for HVM guests on Xen
4.1. When I start the DomU with xm create everything is fine the DomU
runs and in xm list it has the running state but when I try to connect
to the VNC console to install an operating system (Ubuntu and Debian I
have tested) the VNC viewer only shows a black screen. So I searched in
the logs and found a log entry

[OT] 'gv' and fractional points
Hi Folks,
This is off-topic R-wise, but it may be close to
the heart of many R-users, so I think it may be
the best place to ask!
Users of 'gv' (the "front end" to ghostscript) will
be aware of the little window which gives you the
x-y coordinates (in points = 1/72 inch) of the position
of the "cross-hair" mouse cursor. These coordinates
are those of the corresponding
