The package you're missing is probably gnome-python2-libwnck.
On my desktop it gets a different error:
pyGTK is not correctly installed, exiting.

gtk-window-decorator Wnck warnings
Hi,
I'm getting a lot of warnings like this one:
(gtk-window-decorator:8442): Wnck-WARNING **: Unhandled action type (nil)
Does anyone else see these warnings or know what causes these?
Also, it seems that this "lost textures" bug
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=10789
usually happens only when these warnings are spitted out, so the bug
is probably related to these

catch event when workspace is changing
Hi,
how do you do that? In normal session, this is how you do it with python:
import gtk
import wnck
def workspace_changed(screen):
workspace = screen.get_active_workspace()
print workspace.get_name()
screen = wnck.screen_get_default()
screen.connect("active_workspace_changed", workspace_changed)
gtk.main()
With compiz, that code does not work because compiz use only one

I don't know but with the dependencies installed and the fix of
commenting out line 374, it starts on MATE.
A couple of concerns:
the last commit to gdevilspie source was in Jun 12, 2010
devilspie is no longer maintained; development moved to devilsipe2

x86_64 kernel compilation
If I can squeeze a message between the discussions on security (:-)) I
have been trying to compile a kernel on an x86_64 box under CentOS4.1 and
now 4.2.
The problem is that neither make xconfig or make gconfig work:

Compiz starts, but no 3D effects
I just installed Compiz on Ubuntu Feisty (Gutsy does not work on my
hardware as per the release notes) via the
http://ppa.launchpad.net/amaranth/ubuntu repo, which is the repo
suggested in the compiz-fusion website. The machine is a Dell Inspiron
E1505 / 6400 with the horrible ATI X1400 graphics card and 1680x1050
monitor. I installed XGL and the proprietary ATI driver, a combination
that worked

CentOS 8 and UPS Autoshutdown
What is the recommended method for getting UPS monitoring and
autoshutdown in CentOS 8? EPEL has nut, but I get errors on missing
dependencies when trying to install it. I can add details if needed or
helpful. I have looked for apcupsd, but have not found a package for
CentOS 8. Suggestions?

Should I and can I upgrade GTK+/PyGTK?
I'm trying out different music players. One that looks promising is
called Quod Libet:

I downloaded the tar file and attempted to install it. I got this

PHP-gtk anyone?
Hi,
I seem to be going round in circles trying to install php-gtk for Agata on a
CentOS 4.4 installation - the configure keeps falling out with:
checking for libglade-config... no
checking for libglade... no
configure: error: Unable to locate libglade
I have installed libglade 1.99 and 2.01 directly from rpm but something's
not meeting up.
Is there a nice, yum-type install for libglade

Here is the output from yum -y upgrade without the error parts...
Its odd because it updated all of these first time round. I have dared
reboot the box yet, for fear it won't come back up...

problem Installing R 2.0.0 on SuSe 9.1
Hello:
I first tried it by using ./configure with the source files, but found that there is a huge problem with the gcc-g77 package, then I tried using the RPM obtained from CRAN, getting the following, the first of which appears to be another manifestation of the g77 problem:
linux:/tmp # rpm -i R-base-2.0.0-1.i586.rpm
warning: R-base-2.0.0-1.i586.rpm: V3 DSA signature: NOKEY, key ID a3278da3
