I'm sorry for all this trouble; I followed ElRepo's instructions and now I
have wifi! (someday I will fix bluetooth).

Semi-OT: hardware: NVidia proprietary driver, C7.4
Hi, folks,
Well, still more fun (for values of fun approaching zero):
1. Went to install CUDA 9.0... well, gee, there is *no* CUDA 9.0.
Even though I installed the 9 repo, all that I get is 8. I've
used their webform, and an waiting on a reply.
2. I remove all nvidia packages.
3. It appears that the kmod-nvidia is what I need; that's what

BCM4313 on CentOS 6.3
Hi all,
I'm a complete newbie in Linux and am trying to get my Broadcom BCM4313
working in my Lenovo S10-3t netbook (CentOS 6.3 installed from LiveCD).
I followed the steps in the wiki, which lead me to ELRepo: wl-kmod. I
followed the instructions there until Step 2:
$ mkdir -p ~/rpmbuild/{BUILD,RPMS,SPECS,SOURCES,SRPMS}
$ echo -e "%_topdir $(echo $HOME)/rpmbuild\n%dist .el$(lsb_release

Crash in CentOS 7 kernel-3.10.0-514.16.1.el7.x86_64 in Xen PV mode
I experienced a bug that is likely the same as https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1350373 . Commit
b7dd0e350e0bd4c0fddcc9b8958342700b00b168 , which is supposed to fix it, doesn't appear in this kernel and doesn't apply cleanly either.
Is there any point in trying to backport the patch?
The backtrace is as follows:

The instructions at https://elrepo.org/tiki/wl-kmod always worked for
me (BCM4312, if I remember correctly).

Wine and mouse wheel tilts
I'm not happy with the way that Wine interpretes mouse wheel tilts (remaps them to scrolls)
I want to change this to keyboard input. I want to do this because I use the wheel tilt to change target in World of Warcraft when I play in Windows, and I want to carry this over to Linux.
I'm a bit of a n00b, but does anyone have any idea how I'd go about doing this? I know how to apply

4.9 kernel fails to boot because it didn't have the mpt3sas module
Howdy,
I hit a snag trying to install Xen4CentOS on a Supermicro based system
(X9DRD-7LN4F with the Broadcom/LSI 2308 chipset). I spent a few hours on
this today, I'm posting this here in case it helps anyone else and saves
them the frustration I dealt with.
On this system I did a fresh install of CentOS 7, updated it, rebooted it,
then installed Xen.
The system was booting fine using the

Wifi Driver Broadcom BCM4322 not working with Centos 7.2
Hi,
I've been using in the past the broadcom wifi card BCM4322 with Centos 7.1
one in the past, with kernel 3.10.0-229.7.2.el7 and driver 6_30_223_248 and
it worked well.
Now I updated Centos to 7.2 and the driver is not compiling any more under
kernel 3.10.0-327.3.1.el7. Neither driver 6_30_223_238 nor 6_30_223_271.
Does any body experienced the same issues?
Cheers,
Roberto Nebot

C7: kernel-3.10.0-693.2.2, huh?
Ok... I just fully updated a user's machine. And got a kernel panic on
reboot. So, having run into this earlier this year, I tried to reinstall
the kernel.
yum reinstall kernel-3.10.0-693.2.2.el7.x86_64
Installed package kernel-3.10.0-693.2.2.el7.x86_64 (from updates) not
available.
Error: Nothing to do
Huh? Anyone?

/dev/md1 => 93% Used. Warning. Disk Filling up. - what would be safe to delete in /boot ?
Hello CentOS users,
in the recent time I keep getting the logwatch warnings from my 2 dedicated
servers running CentOS 7.4.1708.
I guess because of the numerous kernel updates (because of
Spectre+Meltdown) in the near past?
Could someone please suggest me, which files in my /boot partition would be
safe to delete?
I would like to avoid the situation of having to boot the rescue partiton
etc.

NVidia, again
Got a HBS (y'know, Honkin' Big Server, one o' them technical terms), a
Dell 720 with two Tesla GPUs. I updated the o/s, 6.5, and I cannot get the
GPUs recognized. As a last resort, I d/l NVidia's proprietary
driver/installer, 325, and it builds fine... I've yum removed the
kmod-nvidia I had on the system, nouveau is blacklisted, and when I
reboot, lsmod shows me nvidia loaded,
