centos 7- boot doesn't wait for startup script to complete
thank you for the feedback.? I tried using Before=systemd-user-sessions.service.? At first glance it seems to work, but then the oracle DB shuts down.? Note that myservices starts oracle and then does a few things for our application. When I remove that entry, it goes right to the login as I originally described, but the oracle DB does not shut down.? maybe I have the wrong combination of timeout

centos 7- boot doesn't wait for startup script to complete
I am taking a step back.? I have a normal rc?script that is installed with our product.? All of the CentOS 7 documentation says the script should work on startup/shutdown.?? But it doesn't.?? If I run the script manually it works as it should of course. When I restart the server, nothing happens or starts up.? So my question is should it be working as it was without me changing anything? If there are many old kernels in there, you can probably remove the oldest one(s) to make room for newer ones. I've run into problems where the yum update didn't work because there wasn't enough room in /boot; my notes for updating now include removing old kernels first before running updates. --- Mike VanHorn Senior Computer Systems Administrator College of Engineering and Computer

Looking for the above. I have found sites where you can register the sites you are interested in - as well as yourself - but I would rather run something myself on my server to monitor websites etc which do not have RSS-feeds. Does anyone use something like this?

How do I remove a kernel
I have 4 kernels in /boot, leaving on 20MB which is not enough for the next one. I had installonly_limit= set at 5, as there were some kernel problems.? After I got the error that there was not enough room for another kernel, I set installonly_limit= to 3 and did the update with --exclude=kernel* That worked to update everything else, but not remove the oldest kernel. How can I remove the

hacking grub to control number of retained kernels.
I've recently had this problem on two C7 systems, wherein when doing "yum update", I get a warning about /boot being low on space. both systems were installed using the partition size recommended by Anaconda, right now "df -h" shows /boot as 494M, with 79M free. I don't store unrelated crap on /boot, I assume that yum and/or grub will manage it for me. So, why, after
