Samba AD not resolving external names
I have just set up a new AD and am having a little success with it, but DNS
resolution is a little slow.
I'm looking into why that is and tried an ns lookup for google.com and got
the answer SERVFAIL on my AD server.
The query was then passed to my next nameserver (google's own dns), which
handled the query.
Is this correct behaviour? I've not seen SERVFAIL before

GSoC aspirant - guruprasad hegde
Hi,
I plan to propose 'Math Aware search' project.
After the literature review on the topic, I found Tangent or MIaS system
would be a good start. With that, I studied both of the systems well.
I plan to pick Tangent because it performs better. Also, it has a good
literature(thesis report and few papers available) and reference code
available.
I keep the summary of both the system, I

Weird Dovecot 1.1.6 + pop3s certificate issues
Hello everyone,
I've been asked by a colleague to have a look at some extremely weird
dovecot SSL issue they are seeing on one of the student mailservers.
They are running dovecot 1.1.6 (yes, I know, a bit old ...) on SLES 10.2
x86_64 with imap(+starttls), imaps, pop3(+starttls) and pop3s enabled.
Every couple of weeks the pop3s and pop3+starttls part bail out out.
Clients can't connect,

Are squeeze Xen dom0 kernels subject to this the same IPv6 GSO problem?
Hi,
I have three squeeze servers running:
ii linux-image-2.6.32-5-xen-amd64 2.6.32-38 Linux 2.6.32 for 64-bit PCs, Xen dom0 support
ii xen-hypervisor-4.0-amd64 4.0.1-4 The Xen Hypervisor on AMD64
All three servers have Intel gigabit NICs, but one server uses the
e1000e driver and the other two use the igb driver.
They've been in production for around 6 months now

Samba AD not resolving external names
I fell asleep at my desk... and now it's working fine.
I have no idea what was wrong or why it magically fixed itself.

Samba AD not resolving external names
After reboot, the problem came back again.
Server refuses to resolve external names without "nameserver 8.8.8.8" in
resolv.conf and gives the same SERVFAIL message when doing nslookup

List of tables rather than an extra dimension in the table or (l)apply(xtabs)
I'm not sure how to best explain what I am after but here goes. I have a data frame with 2 geographical factors. One is the major region the other is the component regions.
I am trying to process all the regions at the same time without using "for". So I need (think, I do) a list of matrices each structured according to the number of subregions within each region.
So is there a

Manipulating two large dataset differing by date and time
Dear Members,
Compliments of the Season!!
Below is a part of a code I use for Fourier analysis of signals. The code
handles data with the format 05 01 01 8628 (year, month, day and count)
05 01 02 8589 (year, month, day and count)
The sample data is attached as 2005daily.txt.
I would like to adapt the code to handle data of the form:
05 01 01 00 4009

clock24.plot/radial plot
Kind Experts,
Many thanks for your guide. I have tried to figure out something that
can help me plot my own data using the examples you referred me to. I
copied part of the code as:
set.seed(44)
N=500
events <- as.POSIXct("2011-01-01", tz="GMT") +
days(floor(365*runif(N))) +
hours(floor(24*rnorm(N))) + # using rnorm here

Manipulating two large dataset differing by date and time
Hi Ogbos,
You can just use ISOdate. If you pass more values, it will process them:
ISOdate(2018,01,22)
[1] "2018-01-22 12:00:00 GMT"
> ISOdate(2018,01,22,18,17)
[1] "2018-01-22 18:17:00 GMT"
Add something like:
if(is.null(data$hour),data$hour<-12
then pass data$hour as it will default to the same value as if you
hadn't passed it.

clock24.plot/radial plot
Dear All,
I am trying to generate a circular/radial plot. The script below has a
result I am looking for:
testlen<-rnorm(24)*2+5
testpos<-0:23+rnorm(24)/4
clock24.plot(testlen,testpos,main="Test Clock24 (lines)",show.grid=FALSE,
line.col="green",lwd=3)
if(dev.interactive()) par(ask=TRUE)
# now do a 'daylight' plot
