monochrome mosaic plot in vcd package
helpeRs, I have a nice looking mosaic plot in an article to be published soon. Sadly, the published version will be in black and white and so ruin the advantage of the default shading scheme of tiles. What would readers suggest as an alternative shading scheme? If I have a black-and-white shading scheme graduated according to suitable cutoffs I won't be able to tell positive from

Brother HL-L2360DW printing quality
I have the above printer but have not been able to resolve issues with the printing quality in CentOS 7. The test page prints fine but when I print PDF-documents, most recently using Chinese fonts, it is lacking and the pages very hard to read. The settings in the Mate Cups configuration panel are fine and set to 600 dpi, the settings in the printer menu are all OK yet it prints more like maybe

X11 Device Driver
I have made some modifications to the X11 graphics driver so that it is more flexible about its use of colors. I have added a new parameter to the X11/x11 function which controls this. The parameter is currently called "colormodel" and works as follows: colormodel = 0 Monochrome graphics colormodel = 1 Grayscale (256 shades) colormodel = 2 Pseudocolor1 colormodel = 3

change color scheme in mvpart
Hello everyone, I am currently using the mvpart package and would like to change the color scheme it uses, and was hoping someone could help me out. All of the papers I have found have used a grayscale but I can't seem to figure out how they did that! Currently, mvpart plots barplots in a repeating sequence of 3 shades of blue. So if you have 6 response variables the same shade of blue is used

rgb and col2rgb color conversion/modification/shading
I want to get a lighter shade of a color...I have a lot of colored objects and want each one printed as a foreground against a slightly lighter background. I thought I could try something like changing the alpha channel by first converting it to rgb. But prior to trying that, I'm stuck with how to get the color after converting using col2rgb() to be interpreted again as a color, rather than

Duplex Printing
Hi People, This may be slightly off topic if so please let me know. My situation is I have a bunch of Fedora clients connecting to a CentOS Printer server (setup using cups). I have gone through and used Vendor supplied ppd files where possible. And basic printing is working. But, Duplex printing doesn't. The Printers I am using are mostly Brother / HP with a few MFD's from

unequal bins in filled.contour
Hello, I am trying to plot SADIE red-blue plots of cluster indicies using filled.contour. I want a plot which only has three bins for the data: <-1.5, -1.5 - 1.5, >1.5, but I am having trouble getting there. example X1 X2 X3 X4 X5 1 -5 -4.5 1.0 4.5 6 2 -3 -2.0 1.2 -1.0 3 3 0 0.0 0.0 -0.5 -1 4 -2 -3.0 1.0 1.5 3 5 -6 -2.0 0.5 3.0 2 example<-as.matrix(example)

Printing problem with CUPS and lp/lpr
I know that printing on Linux is somewhat of an art form, but I have a fairly simple problem. I used the following command to configure a networked printer (HP LaserJet 8150): lpadmin -p name -E -v socket://name -m laserjet.ppd -u allow:all - u deny:none This added and enabled the printer, and I can print to it using the print command from within a GUI application and PostScript

Shade and minimize to notification area.
Hi, Thanks for all the great work on compiz, you guys have been great, the shade function works wonderfuly. There's a minor, or not so minor, thing I noticed, if I try to shade an application which minimizes to systray, it shades until it leaves a titlebar-sized artifact on the screen, then I can only activate it again after clicking the notification area icon again. Best regards, Diogo

Gray levels
The gray (level) function returns different shades of gray, where level is a vector of numbers ranging from 0 to 1.? 0 is white and 1 is black and everything in between is a shade of gray. Is there a function that will let me choose two different colors?? For example, a 0 might be blue and 1 might be red and in between might be a mix. Jeffrey

Shading underneath a line plot.
Hi, I'm sure this should be fairly simple to do but I haven't found an example. I have 10 data points which are plotted as a line, I want to shade under this line with a colour. Other examples have shading under curves where there are two sets of data use polygons. mydata <- c(268,251,254,250,244,246,247,243,241,243) plot(mydata, type="o")
