(If older versions of RHEL are any indication) The basic problem is though that there won't be any security fixes for 2.2 How can they back port something that does not exist? Or do you mean you think

pgadmin3 missing dependencies
I searched the list archives and I found one answer to this which suggested I should install the PG yum repos. I don't like that answer for reasons which follow. I'm running Centos 6.0 freshly installed, and I've decided that with this box I'm sticking as much as possible to just the CentOS repos that go with that release. I figure in particular I do not need any PG features

[HOWTO] Running Xen 4.0 host (dom0) with Redhat Enterprise Linux 6 (RHEL6)
Hello, If you're interested in running Xen 4.0 hypervisor/dom0 on RHEL6, take a look at here: http://wiki.xen.org/xenwiki/RHEL6Xen4Tutorial It explains steps needed to rebuild Xen 4.0.1 src.rpm from Fedora on RHEL6, and how to fetch dom0 capable 2.6.32.x kernel from upstream git repository. It also shows how to get libvirt/virt-manager working with Xen on RHEL6. Hopefully it helps :) --

Installing rpy2 on Red Hat 6
I need to install rpy2 on RHEL6. The version of R in the 6 repos is 3.0, and rpy2 does not work with that version. I installed R 3.3.3 following the directions here: https://oguya.ch/posts/2017-03-18-building-R-on-rhel-6/. But even with 3.3.3 it's still failing. Using pip it fails with: /usr/local/lib64/R/lib/libR.a(CommandLineArgs.o): could not read symbols: Bad value and installing from

augeas, rhel6, setm
It turns out augeas on RHEL6 is 0.7.2, which does not have ''setm'' command available. ''setm'' is available in augeas release 0.8, which is available in EPEL, but not available for RHEL6 (the reason is the package is already in RHEL6, thus no package would be released in EPEL for this. All I want to do is to put console=ttyS0 on all kernel lines in /etc/grub.conf.

I have RHel6. How does that turn into Centos 6?
The bickering here about Centos 6 has made me wonder what is actually legally necessary to re-distribute the RPM files that come with RHel6. I am not starting a flame ware, I hope. I'm just curious about what is minimally necessary go from RHel6 to another distribution. I suppose we could discuss "Paul Linux 6" instead of Centos, if that makes you feel more comfortable. (and not

No more support for chrome/chromium on rhel6
https://plus.google.com/u/0/100132233764003563318/posts/Y1s6T44Soby Not 100% this is true but the problem apparently is that rhel6 uses an old version of gtk2. If this is true, then it affects my school and my students. I like google-chrome and it works very well with google services. I was planning on using C6 for a long time. Does anyone know of a repo that intends to keep Chromium working

Dovecot 2.1.0 packages for CentOS 6 / RHEL6
Hi, First, Timo, Thank you for Dovecot 2.1.0. I've built Dovecot 2.1.0 RPMs including Dovecot-Pigeonhole 0.3.0 for RHEL6, CentOS 6 and Scientific Linux 6. If anyone is interested in testing these RPMs: http://oss.imt-systems.com/mstevens/el6/dovecot/2.1.0/ Feedback would be appreciated. After some testing, we will use these RPMs on our IMAP servers. RHEL6 cgroup error after a few days of uptime
I have a RHEL6 that hosts many kvm virtual machines. It has been working fine for a couple years. I apply errata updates about once a week. In the last couple weeks, I've ran into a bug where the virtual machines start failing to start with a cgroup error message. If I reboot the host (very disruptive) then things start working normaly for a few days. Can I configure qemu/libvirt not to use

RHEL6 domU migrate issues w/ higher to lower frequency CPU''s
Hey folks, I''ve encountered a rather interesting/frustrating issue with RHEL6 domU''s and live migration. I have no problems booting a RHEL6 domU using its stock/native kernel on Xen 3.4.1 or Xen 3.4.3. But in terms of live migration, there seems to be a problem when moving from a higher (in terms of CPU MHz) to lower (MHz) system -- even if the higher of the two is a much

Dovecot imaptest on RHEL4/GFS1, RHEL6/GFS2, NFS and local storage results
We have done some benchmarking tests using dovecot 2.0.12 to find the best shared filesystem for hosting many users, here I share with you the results, notice the bad perfomance of all the shared filesystems against the local storage. Is there any specific optimization/tunning on dovecot for use GFS2 on rhel6??, we have configured the director to make the user mailbox persistent in a node, we will
