Investigating memory performance: bare metal vs. xen-pv vs. xen-hvm
I''ve been trying to compare memory access speed between bare-metal, xen-pv
and xen-pvhvm (hvm with pv drivers). In all 3 setups I''m running the same
kernel (3.6.6), built with support for xen, on a 64 core AMD Opteron 6378.
The output of xm info (relevant parts):
machine : x86_64
nr_cpus : 64
nr_nodes : 8
cores_per_socket : 16

libvirt: how to set PV-on-HVM drivers??
Hi friend.
I have a problem about using libvirt now.
There is a feather about HVM driver ---PV_on_HVM_drivers, in xm configure, using flag xen_platform_pci can control the feather, but in libvirt I can not find the flags to use pv-on-HVM drivers. So I want to find the answer if the libvirt can control the modules using xml file? thanks a lot.
best regards.

PVHVM example for xen 4.3.1
Hello,
I'm looking for an example configuration for a PVHVM domU that works with 4.3.1. The one at http://wiki.xen.org/wiki/Xen_Linux_PV_on_HVM_drivers causes 3 warnings and some errors:

Centos 7 Kernel 3.10.0-693.11.6.el7.x86_64 does not boot PV
While installing the experemental kernel on a CentOS 7 PV the following
happened. After a reboot of the PV the kernel looks to be installed but
there is no option for booting it in grub. I attempted to run yum
reinstall kernel-4.9.75-204.el7.centos.x86_64 and it installed fine but
still no entry in grub. No initramfs existed and I found kernel-modules
did not install properly so I then ran

CentOS 7.4 fails to boot as Xen PV guest: resurfaces (now also) with centosplus kernel 693.11.6.el7
Dear all,
Maybe I'm the only one - so before filing it as a bug: it appears that
the latest set of kernel patches in 3.10.0-693.11.6.el7 makes issue
0013763 "CentOS 7.4 kernel (3.10.0-693*) fails to boot as Xen PV guest"

different way ...
Thanks to the (great!) quick work on making the plus kernel available

Possible bug in Xen 4.2.1 when rebooting domU after save/restore
Hello,
After saving and restoring a DomU (teste on the same server), doing a reboot
to the newly restored domU will cause it to crash. This happens on PV and
PVHVM domUs.
I am using qemu upstream for the HVM guests, but I don''t really think it
matters as long as PV guests behave the same.
I want to confirm this if possible, before submitting a bug report and more
details.
I am using
