A VM can have spice console listen only on the loopback interface, so the only way to connect would be to tunnel the spice connection via SSH. This is so 'by design'. You'll certainly need an SSH keypair for authentication along with the ssh-agent (if your private key is password protected). I'm using something like: virt-viewer --connect

libvirt for spice
Hi all: I tried kvm on my ubuntu with the libvirt.xml file as follows: <domain type='kvm'> <name>instance-00000011</name> <memory>2097152</memory> <os> <type>hvm</type> <boot dev="hd" /> </os> <features> <acpi/>

aliases for graphic devices
Hello, AFAIK, aliases cannot be set for Graphics devices. I tried this very simple experiment with libvirt 1.2.4 (from virt-preview on F20) relevant part of the input xml: <graphics type='spice' port='-1' autoport='yes' listen='127.0.0.1'> <listen type='address' address='127.0.0.1'/> <alias

Regarding SPICE
Hi, I have set up KVM on FC12. I was wondering if its possible to Display the VM using spice + libvirt? As in, if I can define my domain with graphics like: <graphics type='spice' port='-1' autoport='yes' listen='0.0.0.0'/> or <graphics type='spice' port='5903' '

no drm render nodes available
Hi, I get this error when trying to start a vm using spice as the graphics: "error: internal error: No DRM render nodes available" I can't seem to figure out what could be going on, since it worked just a little while ago. Using arch linux, and libvirt from git (4.10.0.22.g6a6925b9b7-1). -Michael.

KVM console?
I finally got access to some machines with more resources than the free VMware ESXi license allows which pushed me into trying kvm instead. Seems capable enough for what I need and can even import and run the existing vmdk images I already have. But, I have some questions about accessing the virt-manager console remotely for initial configuration, etc.. Normally I use freenx for remote GUI

Windows guest skipping chkdsk if using Spice display
Hi all, as per subject, when a Windows guest using a Spice display is rebooted with a planned chkdsk, the consistency check is always skipped. It seems that the Spice display issues some "phantom" keystrokes, which are then intended by Windows as the "skip chkdsk at boot" signal. I tried to use a Spice display with no additional features (ie: USB redirection), but to no

Re: Windows Server 2008 - KVM
Hi there! Although the guest has 2GB memory, the windows guest was adjusted to support this. I guess that the LVM is the best choice! I will save all images to other disk and re-build the partition with LVM. Do you recomend to use ext4 or zfs ? - About the apparmor, I have my doubts, I will try to disable and see what will happen! - About the tablet input device, I removed! Some forums say that
