Airprint to old printer using Centos server
Hi Gary
I got this working in a previous role a while ago:
http://thirdlineit.blogspot.co.uk/2011/12/active-directory-authenticated-airprint.html
(ignore the authentication aspects). I also managed to do it recently
on my home network using Ubuntu, so the principle still works.
Summary:
1. Install CUPS
2. Enable IPP for the printer queues
3. To make the printers visible across

HP laptops with CentOS 7?
I've got a HP Envy laptop and I'm fairly happy with it. The internal WiFi
doesn't work with Centos but a ?5 WiFi dongle sorted that. Oddly, it still
stops working once the battery drops below 50% ish.
Mine is dual boot with Win8 which is pants. The biggest problem is that
whenever I do much with the config, e.g. when I re-installed centos, the boot
loader doesn't sort properly

HP laptops with CentOS 7?
Hi
yeah, it's just a normal USB dongle, and it's supported by the Linux Kernel,
that's why I tried it. I have tried other USB dongles with Linux before and
failed.
This one was plug and play.

Airprint to old printer using Centos server
Hi folks,
I've found a number of articles on setting up a Linux / CUPS / Avahi server to
allow airprinting, but they all seem to be quite old.
Two questions:
1) Does anyone have a link for a more recent article, hopefully specifically
for Centos7.
2) I'm on a structured, VLAN network. Will I have to put a WIFI card into my
Centos server to give it a presence on the WIFI before this

All Samba shares suddenly becoming read only
I have a Centos 7 server ? ZEPPO - which I use for file sharing. The clients
are all Win7 PC's and I use Samba to serve the files. It has been working
fine ever since I put it live late last year. Now, all of a sudden, all files
are read-only.
I recently added a USB WiFi dongle to give the server a presence on the WiFi
VLAN. Using this I am able to provide an Air Print service for our

yum install fails - itertoolsmodule.so
Hi Paddy,
I was suspecting the same, and from the output below I think you're right. However, I was hoping I could just repair this problem for now, and worry about replacing the HDD later. I need to resume some services that also seem to generate this same error.

Blank printers names while browsing remote printers
Hai Olivier,
Looks to me its a small problem, but lets start here.
First, can you post your:
cat /etc/samba/smb.conf
cat /etc/nsswitch.conf
cat /etc/resolv.conf
cat /etc/hosts
dpkg --get-selections | egrep "samba|winbind|libnss|pam|avahi|dbus"
(some people may see libnss(-mdns)/avahi/dbus not needed, yes, thats correct, but i use this for my airprint solution.)
Last, check this

Server turns off unexpectedly
A few weeks back I built a new Centos 7 server from a 4 year old workstation
PC, and a brand new HDD.
This PC had no prior problems other than it ran Windows 7. Thew new HDD is
because I'm planning to also use it as a Bacula storage device.
For the moment is purely an AirPrint server, using CUPS and Avahi so is ide
99.9% of the time.
My priblem is that twice now it has turned itself off,
