dovecot-auth: gkr-pam: error looking up user information for: IP ?
I am receiving a lot of error messages dovecot-auth: gkr-pam: error looking up user information for: <user> Unfortunately, I do not see the IP of the remote client, trying to break in. Is there any possibility to get it ? Would be useful to block the IP. -- View this message in context:

ldap host attribute is ignored
Hmmm...., i have made now a complete new install but the problem persists: ldap authentication works, but the host attribute is ignored. I have installed CentOS7 64bit with KDE. I did not do any 'yum update' or install of extra packages so far. these pam and ldap packages are installed: openldap-devel-2.4.39-6.el7.x86_64 openssh-ldap-6.6.1p1-11.el7.x86_64 openldap-2.4.39-6.el7.x86_64

I am still not understanding why your using MD5? Is it because everyone in InfoSec declared that everyone finally went from md5 to sha512 or what? -----Original Message----- From: centos-bounces at centos.org [mailto:centos-bounces at centos.org] On Behalf Of Ulrich Hiller Sent: Monday, May 11, 2015 1:40 PM To: CentOS mailing list Subject: Re: [CentOS] ldap host attribute is ignored one more

Centos 7 member server login fails
I have a problem that is now becoming very annoying. Namely I have a Centos 7 member server running Sernet Samba 4.7.4 for which everything seems to work except gdm or ftp logins. On the linux client it seems winbindd is set up correctly. For example (the data shown below has been sanitized): > getent passwd testuser2:*:3001108:3000513::/home/testuser1:/bin/bash

CentOS 5 (beta): tomcat/keystore issue
I (somewhat sadly, imo) need to run Tomcat/SSL on a public-facing machine at work. I was really, really hoping I could use the GCJ-compiled version of Tomcat supplied in the base repository. I can't get Tomcat to read a Java keystore created with the keytool utility provided (in java-1.4.2-gcj-compat-1.4.2.0-40jpp.110). The Sun and GNU keytools produce different keystores. I'll use

Gnome-Screensaver Problem
Around last weekend, the updated package, gnome-screensaver-2.16.1-8.el5_5.1, came in replacing gnome-screensaver-2.16.1-8.el5. Once our CentOS 5.5 machines are running the new gnome-screensaver, we start seeing problem in unlocking the Gnome screensaver with Kerberos authentication. Unlocking the screensaver with local password works fine. After we back out from the new version, Kerberos

LMTP, PAM session and home directory autocreation
Hi, mail is delivered by Dovecot's LMTP locally and I need user's home directory to be created if it doesn't exist yet. There is a setting in Dovecot's configuration, "session=yes", in /etc/Dovecot/conf.d/auth-system.conf.ext, which should do that. passdb { driver = pam args = session=yes dovecot } But I think it does not work in my setup because I do not see any

lock down gnome-screensaver
Hello All, I'm trying to set defaults for gnome-screensaver on some Centos6.5 laptops and lock it down with these commands: # gconftool-2 --direct --config-source xml:readwrite:/etc/gconf/gconf.xml.mandatory --type boolean --set /apps/gnome-screensaver/lock_enabled true # gconftool-2 --direct --config-source xml:readwrite:/etc/gconf/gconf.xml.mandatory --type boolean --set

CentOS 5, gnome-screensaver and password amnesia?
I've built some CentOS 5.5 64-bit systems straight off the DVD, full installs, and the Gnome screen lock (manually invoked or automatically via the gnome-screensaver) does not allow the user to unlock the screen. The only fix appears to be ctrl-alt-F<1 - 5> then have the user log into the tty session, type pkill -f gnome-screensaver, log out, then ctrl-alt-f7 to return to X. These

Yes, I have only one domain. Even after added "winbind use default domain = yes" to smb.cnf, I cannot ssh : /Jun 21 12:43:59 [localhost] sshd[5938]: pam_sss(sshd:auth): Request to sssd failed. Connection refused// //Jun 21 12:43:59 [localhost] sshd[5938]: pam_krb5[5938]: TGT verified using key for 'host/mysambserver at MYDOMAIN.LOCAL'// //Jun 21 12:43:59 [localhost]

E-volved Cultures screensaver
Hello all. The best screensaver of all time in my opinion is E-volved cultures, available here: http://www.xs4all.nl/~notnot/E-volverLUMC/screensaver.html Not only are the images it creates highly aesthetic, but they can seamlessly tile, so they are perfect for many applications. My current desktop was generated by this screensaver. I've tried everything though and it won't show up. I
