where is glib-devl x86-64?
that's what I thought at first, but there is no gimp-devel either installed, or available. I dunno. I guess it could be. Went to the Gimp site and saw that glib-devel was mentioned there. My tired old brain is a bit confused by this, since most other -devel packages put -devel following the program/package name, and gimp doesn't. I'll give that a try, though, to see if it takes care of my issue. Thanks! On Tue, Mar 21, 2023 at 2:32?AM Simon Matter <simon.matter at

where is glib-devl x86-64?
I have a brand new installation of Rocky Linux 9.1 (I know, this isn't a Rocky mailing list, but I can't find anything on this on Rocky forums, etc. so I figured I would ask here), and I installed Gimp, and would like to install the Resynthesizer plugin package. Trying to compile it from source, autogen.sh complains that I don't have the gimp development libraries installed. In fact,

CentOS 6 + nux-dextop: GIMP vs. GIMP 2.8 ?
Hi, I just setup a CentOS 6 desktop with the nux-dextop repository activated. When installing GIMP (yum install gimp), I get a gimp package as well as a gimp28 package. I understand this is the Nux-Dextop GIMP 2.8 package. Unfortunately this doesn't work so well with my system. It's not localized (menus appear in english, though the system is in French), the main GTK theme (Murrina

GIMP 2.3.15 for EL5, no newer libs required
Folks, I've build a tiny repo to provide GIMP 2.3.15 (and 2.3.14 as a possible fallback) for EL5. GIMP 2.3.15 is the last version of GIMP that builds with no errors with the GTK+ version that ships with EL. 2.3.15 is "almost GIMP 2.4", as 2.3.19 was the last development release prior to 2.4.0. To the extent of my knowledge, Akkana Peck wrote the first edition of her book on GIMP

Extreme frustration with GIMP
I am not a graphics person. Also can't afford to hire one. Trying to follow instructions at https://docs.gimp.org/en/gimp-tutorial-quickie-separate.html I use the "intelligent scissors" just like they say, spend quite a bit of effort doing so. Then click the foreground select tool - just like they say - and suddenly everything I did with the intelligent tool is undone. WTF?

GIMP 2.4 on CentOS 5?
Hi, I'm using CentOS 5 on all our desktops here (work & home), and I'm quite happy with it. There's one detail I'd like to change. GIMP comes in version 2.2. There have been some changes in version 2.4, and it's also been around for quite some time. There are quite some functions in 2.4 that I'd like to use. As far as I understand, building GIMP 2.4 would involve

GIMP 2.4 packages for CentOS 5
Hi, One of my rare regrets with CentOS 5 was that GIMP only came in version 2.2, but 2.4 offers many nifty new functions quite handy for everyday work. For those of you who are interested, I built some GIMP 2.4 packages for CentOS 5. Download and install (using rpm -Uvh) the following packages: http://download.tuxfamily.org/centos/5/os/i386/RPMS/gimp-2.4.6-1.zzz.i386.rpm

Gimp PDF plugin - Centos 5
Gimp on Centos 5 has somehow lost its ability to load a pdf file on three (i386) different computers. I'm pretty sure that this used to work. When I try to load a PDF file I get the initial box titled "Load Postscript" with rendering and antialiasing options, but when I hit OK I get an error message: Opening "filename" failed: Plug-In could not open image."

Is there a rails Gimp plugin?
Hi, In my app pictures can be uploaded. I want to do two things to the pictures: 1- Add a watermark 2- Add an effect to the picture (colorize) I can do that manually with Gimp and then upload. But how could I make the application to that automatically? Any suggestions for plugins? Regards -- Posted via http://www.ruby-forum.com/. --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You

R meets the gimp
As part of preparation for a ``visualization'' course I am supposed to teach I had a brief play with using the Gimp to capture an on-screen R plot and then massaging it into something more suitable for magazine publication :-). You can see the result at ftp://stat.auckland.ac.nz/pub/ihaka/plot.jpg It looks best in truecolor. Ross
