Centos 8 & AMD hardware?
Putting together a system build, AMD based.
Ryzen 5 CPU on X570 chipset with Radeon RX480
GPU.
Guessing this will be supported by Centos OK?
(Unless you know different! :-) )
https://www.amd.com/en/support/graphics/radeon-400-series/radeon-rx-400-series/radeon-rx-480
Shows driver support.
Does Centos repo's hold these drivers or do I download after
the install please?

HW update. Fedora 30 to Centos?
Due hardware update.
Many years on Fedora, would like to swap out
to AMD motherboard( x570) and graphics (RX480)
I'm led to believe that Fedora Linux is too 'new' for Centos.
Question for those with experience of both, what will I miss
on Centos wrt Fedora?
Not all that bothered about being 'up to the minute', and after
20+ Fedora installs it does get to be a drag...

Why? After I had the BIOS for the laptop T440 & docking station had I

Since I know how hard such a work is, I thank everyone in the community

Without a stable base I can not perform my Linux tests.

[PATCH] nv50/gallium: small fix for nv50_transfer_rect_m2mf (sy <-> dy)
Hi !
I think src and dst starting positions got mixed up in nv50_transfer_rect_m2mf,
there's a diff at the bottom of this message.
This came up when trying to make the gearbox demo run correctly, but this change
alone doesn't fix it. The mesa state tracker in st_cb_clear.c assumes Y_0_TOP
when clearing the color buffer, but that seems to be wrong for NV50.

The ELRepo drivers are just the drivers, not the SDK. That said, my
experience is they're packaged much better than the ones nVidia releases as

chronyd vs ntpd on SambaAD ?
Hi,
As Centos 7 and Fedora defaults to chronyd [2] , should I use ntpd for
some reason [3] ? I based my configurations on [1] which use ntpd ...
but I thinking change for chronyd , change ntp deamons could outage the
samba service and client computers ?
Thanks

HW update. Fedora 30 to Centos?
Hello,
I recently switch from Fedora to CentOS for my work laptop.
99% of the time it's the same. Few programs can be missing by default or
old version like for my professional activity : wireshark, keepassXC,
linphone, sipcalc, etc..
But with a bit of compilation inside a docker (to avoid installing dev libs
on the OS) or AppImage/FlatPak/Snap you can run everything.
Some default

That's rather unfortunate. :-( The intel mesa drivers were also
blacklisted for quite some time a while back. I'm not really sure what we
did to get blacklisted or what we did to get unblacklisted.

Running Fedora under CentOS via systemd-nspawn?
tl;dr - Is anybody "running" a Fedora system via systemd-nspawn under CentOS?
Long version:
Before CentOS 7, I used chroot to create "lightweight containers"
where I could cleanly add extra repos and/or software without the risk
of "polluting" my main system (and potentially ending up in dependency
hell). The primary driver for this was MythTV, which has dozens of

New laptop recomendation
I think you need 4.4 lts kernel, for example
elrepo lts.
I run this time 4.8.11 with i3 6100 HP Laptop
on my own special repo (Test envoirement).
X11 uses a git version for the intel graphic card.
If you are not a beginner. You can take a view :-)
