DNF update
I was searching tonight how to update OLD systems. I have C5 and C6 systems that need updating and they are remote systems. I followed the paths and ended up at DNF. Is this a valid option for updating C5 and C6 to take them to C7? Thanks, Jerry

Hi All - I have a box running the above. Power was lost long enough that UPS did not work. When power came back on the C7 box boots way faster than the switch and resulted in no network. power cycling the C7 box resulted in network. This even happened a second time. Crazy thought about upgrading to new major release
I have older systems out there that work fine, just for what ever reason would be great to upgrade from a C5 -> C7 (due to no longer supported) or C6 > C7 (for updated packages). Sounds like the upgrade tool is not quite an option... I was thinking... What would be wrong with any "easy" script that did the following: 1) Removed all packages with the --justdb option. 2) Import

Help with C7 start script
Under the old C6 I put an entry in rc.local to run my programs I want. We will call it /path/boot.sh Worked fine. Under C7 I have created a new service file for systemd. It looks like: --------------- [Unit] Description=Company After=network.target [Service] Type=forking ExecStart=/path/boot.sh [Install] WantedBy=multi-user.target ----------- For the most part this works every time on boot.

First, a bit of nomeclature clarification is in order. To me, and to most in the RHEL-derived world, an 'update' means staying within

SEM : Warning : Could not compute QR decomposition of Hessian
Hi useRs, I'm trying for the first time to use a sem. The model finally runs, but gives a warning saying : "In sem.default(ram = ram, S = S, N = N, param.names = pars, var.names = vars, : Could not compute QR decomposition of Hessian. Optimization probably did not converge. " I found in R-help some posts on this warning, but my attemps to modify the code didn't change

installing updates in post kickstart
I can do a yum update in my post kickstart (which is what I am doing now actually). However, I want to save network time at installations. If I copy down the files from centos/5.3/updates/x86_64/RPMS and place them in a directory local on my network, can I just "rpm -U /mnt/directory/updates/x86_64/RPMS*" in my post section? Assuming I have nfs mounted the directory of course...
