CentOS on ARM7 (eg Raspberry Pi)
I saw in the anouncement for the upcoming Boston, MA conference that there will be demos of CentOS on an ARM7 system. I am wondering: does this mean that there is somewhere out there a build of some version of CentOS that might run on a Raspberry Pi (which has an ARM7 processor)? -- Robert Heller -- 978-544-6933 Deepwoods Software -- Custom Software Services

Hi All, I downloaded: http://mirror.centos.org/altarch/7/isos/armhfp/ for the PI3 This article says the PI3 runs X. http://news.softpedia.com/news/centos-7-linux-officially-released-for-raspberry-pi-2-banana-pi-and-cubietruck-497891.shtml When I groupinstall Gnome desktop and reboot, then run startx I get an error about no screens found. Whats the trick to get X on the PI3? Thanks, Jerry

Raspberry PI3 - CentOS armv7hl gnome desktop
Maybe there is a better place to post this message but as my question was still CentOS related thought I would start here. Please advise if there is a better forum of which to ask this question. I am playing around with making a "desktop" workstation out of a Raspberry PI3. I have had no problems installing the OS and pretty much have everything working except a Gnome desktop. I

dovecot POP3 log shows too many identical RETR entries
Hello, Dovecot log is showing too many POP3 RETR entries which are identical lines. I also suspect that it is causing high pop traffic eating most of the network bandwidth. Here are some of the lines out of 11009 in a day. Such pattern is observed only for few users. dovecot version is 2.1.17. ============== Mar 20 00:00:07 pi3 dovecot: pop3(user at example.com): Disconnected: Logged out

Securing RPC
Dear Community I hope you are all doing well. Recently I have been receiving several complaints from our service provider. Please see the complaint below: A public-facing device on your network, running on IP address XXX.XXX.XXX.XXX, operates a RPC port mapping service responding on UDP port 111 and participated in a large-scale attack against a customer of ours, generating responses to

ARM7 decode resource requirements
Hi all I'm looking in to using speex for an ARM7 based speech decode development (note we need the decode only). My hope is that we should be able to run the decoder (in wideband mode) real time on the ARM7 (40MHz) without any problems (the difficulty would be in the encode - but we plan to run that offline on a PC - so we should be OK). Can anyone confirm that this is the case please? Also

Speex and the ARM7 Core
Hello, I'm sorry if this is not the correct place to ask this question but what I'm looking for is any data on the reality of Speex working on an ARM7 core? I'm looking at doing a few diffrent projects where I will be using a proc such as the LPC2378 with the ARM7TDMI-S core running at 72Mhz (although errata show only 60Mhz is currenlty possible). Do you know if there is a port

How do I remove a kernel
I have 4 kernels in /boot, leaving on 20MB which is not enough for the next one. I had installonly_limit= set at 5, as there were some kernel problems.? After I got the error that there was not enough room for another kernel, I set installonly_limit= to 3 and did the update with --exclude=kernel* That worked to update everything else, but not remove the oldest kernel. How can I remove the
