TipsAndTricks/CentOSUpgradeTool unaviliable
Hi everyone,
It seems that https://wiki.centos.org/TipsAndTricks/CentOSUpgradeTool is no
longer available. Can you help me with reaching an older version? Where I
can find the article history?
Best wishes,

Upgrade from CentOS6.6 to CentOS 7
Hi All
Is it possible to upgrade from CentOS 6.7 to CentOS 7?
I see there is some attempt at an upgrade tool available, but it's
apparently broken:
https://wiki.centos.org/TipsAndTricks/CentOSUpgradeTool
Would anyone be able to recommend a manual upgrade procedure to
upgrade a minimal CentOS 6.7 system to one or other version of CentOS
7?
Many thanks in advance,
Traiano

AFAIK, nothing that's supported. There's the tool available here:
http://wiki.centos.org/TipsAndTricks/CentOSUpgradeTool
... but it can leave your system in a broken state.
(I'm assuming you mean migrating from CentOS6 to

Is there a expected time when it will be working?

Upgrading to CentOS 7
I read in <http://wiki.centos.org/TipsAndTricks/CentOSUpgradeTool>
"Warning: use of this tool is currently not recommended as several system-
critical packages are of a higher version number in CentOS 6.6 than they are
in CentOS 7 so those do not get upgraded correctly. This renders yum and
several other system tools non-functional."
Does this still hold?
It seems to me a bit

Has anyone tackled the best way to shut down a VM running Win10 running in RedHat's (CentOS 7) KVM/QEMU VM manager?

In Place Upgrade Tool, CentOS 6 to CentOS 7
Upgrade Tool Docs:
http://wiki.centos.org/TipsAndTricks/CentOSUpgradeTool
Make sure you listen to the tool if it tells you that you have Medium,
High, or Extreme issues and mitigate them before trying to upgrade.
You can not upgrade if you have a GNOME or KDE desktop, for example.
Let's give this a try and hopefully we can move this out of testing and
into Extras next week.
Thanks,
Johnny

Is that still the position?

UID/GID CentOS 6 to CentOS 7
Hi,
we are upgrading some servers from C6 to C7 with a lot of user accounts
on them (UID>=500).
CentOS 7 has MIN_UID/MIN_GID 1000, Centos 6 has 500 in login.defs.
Can I change in /etc/login.defs MIN_UID/MIN_GID to 500 for C7? So I
could just grep the users out from passwd/shadow/group files and append
them to the Centos7 passwd/shadow/group files.
Can this do any damage to CentOS7 later

SCSI drives and Centos 7
Everyone,
about 4 years ago, I tried to install CentOS 6 on a Supermicro server
with SCSI drives using a LSI raid system. I could never figure out or
find a way to make the installation disc of Centos 6 identify the SCSI
drives. The installation disc for Centos 5 identified the SCSI drives
without a problem. I finally gave up on Centos 6 and installed Centos 5
and the system has worked very

Kickstart with multiple eth devices
I have a Dell server that has two built-in ethernet devices. When I
kickstart the machine, they are correctly identified as eth0 and eth1
(correctly meaning they correspond to the physical device ports 1 and 2). I
need a third one and want that to come up as eth2. After adding the
hardware, kickstart now fails because for some reason it goes through a
rename process where it makes the newly added
