yum update after update from 6.3 to 6.4 - problems with epel repository.
Hi All. I've updated my system from 6.3 to 6.4. In my /etc/yum.repos.depel.repo I have: [epel] name=Extra Packages for Enterprise Linux - $basearch #baseurl=http://download.fedoraproject.org/pub/epel/6/$basearch mirrorlist= http://mirrors.fedoraproject.org/mirrorlist?repo=epel-6&arch=$basearch failovermethod=priority gpgkey=file:///etc/pki/rpm-gpg/RPM-GPG-KEY-CentOS-5

Building a C5 chroot on a C6 machine
I'm trying to do something slightly silly; rather than having a C5 machine and a C6 machine around for compiling and testing, I want to create a C5 chroot area. Something similar to "mock" but using lvm snapshots and some local config specific stuff. (Potentially even using Linux Containers to enter the chroot environment). So I thought I'd build out the chroot... % cat

I broke "yum update" - C7
This evening I decided to do some work on my development C7 system. As I have not touched it for a while, and wanted to install new services I thought I'd better yum update first. I saw that it only did updates from Google and PHP, and none from the system repo's so I had a closer look. It showed certificate errors on a number of repo's. [root at stan2 ~]# yum update Loaded plugins:

mach64 driver, latest update in CentOS 6.8, symbol lookup error - workaround
> This is a known issue: >https://www.centos.org/forums/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=58168 >I would recommend filing a bug with Red Hat to have them fix it. I am going to see if I can find someone in the organization with a Red Hat account to open the bug. In the meantime, I came up with a workaround. I wanted to see if I could role the updates back to CentOS 6.7 since the system was 6.7

yum cannot find bittorent rpm at dag
I am trying to get the x86_64 isos of CentOS-5.2. I wish to use bittorrent. The last time that I did this I required the bittorent package from Dag's repository. I have configured /etc/yum.repos.d/DagWieers.repo thus: [dag] name=Dag Wieers RPM Repository for Red Hat Enterprise Linux #Also see URL http://dag.wieers.com/home-made/apt/

How do I confirm importing repo key without user intervention?
Hi, Sorry for asking it again. I just thought I asked the question the wrong way. Too much unnecessary details. And therefore, got no replies. I'm configuring a server from, say, a script (automatically). I need it to be done without user saying, "Yes, it's okay to import the key." I was told to run the following command: yum makecache -y --disablerepo=*

new Centos server install yum dependancy error
Hello Voytek, the *-devel packages include header files that are only needed if you want to compile something, they are not needed for running a dovecot server. Likewise the *debuginfo packages, they contain information that is helpful for debugging dovecot. Your problem is here: Error: Package: 2:dovecot-lua-2.3.4.1-1.x86_64 (dovecot-2.3-latest) Requires: dovecot = 2:2.3.4.1-1

DebugInfo repo broken on purpose
This line in /etc/yum.repos.d/CentOS-Debuginfo.repo baseurl=http://debuginfo.centos.org/$releasever/$basearch/ ?causes commands like ?yum search --enablerepo=* foo? to fail with the obscure error Error: Failed to synchronize cache for repo 'base-debuginfo' Apparently this is because the debug info RPMs aren?t hosted there any more, per the page at the top of the site.
