Network slowdown
Hello,
I''m not subscribed to this list, but would like to ask a question.
When I conduct a network speed test from the following location
http://www.timewarnerla.com/speedtest/speedtest.asp with firewall started I
get no more than 1 Mbps at best, while without one I get 4 Mbps.
I have a RCA DCM325 cable modem from RoadRunner.
I''m using Shorewall 2.2.0-Beta3.
My OS is SuSe 9.1

I have two internet connections. One is a partial T1 of data (and rest
voice) the
other is business cable. Both connections come into my office into (2)

I have all my DHCP settings setup for a gateway of 192.168.1.1

Periodic speed test
I run the speedtest from <https://pypi.python.org/pypi/speedtest-cli/>
quite often, and find it very reliable.
I'm wondering if anyone has developed a version
to run the speed test at regular intervals, say every 6 hours,
and record the results in a simple database or just a file?
I imagine it would be a fairly easy task to modify the Python code
to do this, but it would be even easier

Configure Ubuntu Server 16.04 for icecast2
Hi all,
First of all, thank you for supporting us.
I've installed Libretime (https://github.com/LibreTime/libretime) which
user Icecast2 on Ubuntu Server 16.04.
I've also developed a mobile application to listen to stream
myhost:8000/mount.
My problem is when the number of listeners increases up 500 (On live
streaming with butt), the application blockes, and I hardly get info from

Speedtest.mini on a local website?
I wonder if anyone has got speedtest.mini
from <http://speedtest.net/mini.php>
working under CentOS-6?
(It's a version of speedtest that one can run
on a local web-server.)
It used to work for me, but hasn't for a long time
(maybe several years ...)
Any suggestions or elucidation gratefully received.

I use SIP over VPN with RR from TWC no problem, connect via WiFi.
According to http://www.speakeasy.net/speedtest/ I am getting 3.5Mbps
down and 353Kbps up at this time (6:15pm Saturday). My laptop currently
has an X-Lite (free version) softphone with GN Netcom USB professional

How will fragmentation help Red Hat
Somehow the text of my message got deleted:
I'm still using CentOS 7 because both security and stability are
important to me. While CentOS Stream may, or may not, have comparable
security, it is severely lacking in stability. IMHO both CentOS 8 and
CentOS 9 are gigantic piles of garbage.
When the time comes that CentOS 7 no longer meets my needs, I'll be
switching to some other distro,

some websites cant be reached
I have an internet router powered by gentoo+shorewall2.0.7+adsl(pppoe)
but my clients(and gateway) cant access some websites----these sites
must be okay, other sites are okay. The I believe it is caused by MTU or
MSS, but I have no idea yet. Btw, the unaccessable sites are dynamic, it
says: today I cant access www.oracle.com nextday I redail--to get
another ip,I can access www.oracle.com.
