Script not running correctly as cronjob
Thank you for the hints
I modified like you described.
I also moved the permission part out of the loop (once at the end of the script is enough).
Now with the "set -x" the script is working also in cron.
Best regards
Daniel

Triggering on close of a written file.
I have just started my first ''serious'' dtrace script and can use some
advice.
I want to have a probe triggered when close() occurs after a
succesfull write of /etc/hosts ( I want to regenerate the nameserver
zone files
from /etc/hosts after it has changed)
At the moment I have the following code:

rewrite manpages to mdoc(7)
Dear authors of NSD,
currently, the manpages that come with NSD
are written in the traditional man(7) markup language.
I am proposing to rewrite them into the semantic markup
of the mdoc(7) language. I am willing to do the work.
See a version of nsd-checkzone.8 below as an example.
Both the man(7) and mdoc(7) languages have been around for decades,
and are supported by the prevalent formatters:

Samba 2.2.5 Printing problem with HP Designjets
Hello,
I sent this request already last week, but got no answer (maybe I did
not use a good subject).
My problem is the following:
I use server side drivers with samba 2.2.5 and cups. I add them usually
with cupsaddsmb. This works quite well, but I have trouble with printers
with really large papersizes. I have some HP Designjet in our Network,
we need for our mechanical engineers, as well as

Any way to authenticate SIP peers using SRV?
A group which my school is part of wants to start using DNS SRV records
to allow "email-style" dialing amongst members of the group.
I have gotten the records in our zonefiles, and things work pretty much
just fine.
However, since the DNS server can only specify a host and port, there
doesn't seem to be any way to authenticate the user coming in.
Is that the case? Is there a

NSD zone file GENERATE directive
BIND has a handy feature $GENERATE directive in zone files that allows
you to handle large ranges of things like PTR/A records without having
to actually create long lists in very large zonefiles.
This was handy for things like IPv4/v6 PTR's and matching A/AAAA records
for large dynamic hosts, etc.
Does NSD support any type of range generation such at this?

I'm confused now :-)
Arnand said the "database" option is being removed. Does this mean
the database will always be created, or NEVER be created?
I always wondered why

Question about "store-ixfr"
Hi NSD developers,
I have been experimenting with the "store-ixfr" feature in NSD. I have a
configuration with:
server:
zonefiles-write: 0
pattern:
store-ixfr: yes
With this configuration, NSD transfers zones from a primary, and keeps
them in RAM. When the zones are updated, it receives and stores the IXFR
in RAM too. I can query NSD with the IXFR qtype, and it replies with

GPOs don't work after update from Samba4.0 alpha 17 to 4.0.1
Hi!
I have updated our server from Samba 4 alpha 17 to Samba 4.0.1.
Everything seems to work fine after some reconfiguration, but our
GPOs are not working anymore.
Samba 4 alpha 17 was using ntvfs and the root partition with the sysvol share was mounted with "user_xattr" only in /etc/fstab.
Samba 4.0.1 is now set to use s3fs and the root partition is mouted with

How To Expand an .erb Template Without Doing a Full Puppet Run?
We use puppet to distribute named zone files, like many
of you do. We use git to maintain these files, which are
then pulled by the puppet master machine. These zone files are
actually puppet template .erb files.
The other day, I made a mistake which resulted in some zone
files with syntax errors in them. Puppet faithfully distributed
the erroneous zone files to the name servers, which killed

Question on slave
Hi Jean-Christophe,
Anand's answer is entirely correct.
Once 4.8.0 is released, zone files will be written once per hour by
default.

Hello...
We have a NT4 Domain in our mainoffice.
Now we have to install servers all over germany.
(About 20 locations) The offices are connectet over DSL/VPN.
We think about using samba to have a stable and inexpensive solution.
Is there a solution to use samba over a wide area network?
We have alraedy one standalone samba-domain (domain-logons with

Unfortunately, I can't join Windows 2008 to this Samba4 domain - I'm not
even asked for Administrator password.

Upgrade from b113 to b122 - any gotchas
We are running 4 Solaris10u7 DomUs on a b113 Dom0
I''d like to upgrade the Dom0 to b122 but not rebuild the DomUs. Below
is a typical DomU xml dump. Is there anything obvious that will bite
me in upgrading from 113 to 122?
Thanks
