VLANs are your friend, otherwise DHCPD is not going to understand how to properly answer your request for different networks on the same interface.

dhcp server
Hi all,
this is my first post on this list, hope someone can help me.
I have to run a dhcp server on CentOS release 5.5 (Final).

dhcp-devel.x86_64 12:3.0.5-23.el5 installed

You can, provided they're on different physical interfaces.
I'm mostly certain you can have two DHCP scopes on one physical

Configure DHCP to update DNS records with BIND9
Hello everyone,
I have configured my Samba as AD with BIND9_DLZ as backend and trying to
configure the ISC-DHCP-server to add the leases to BIND_DLZ
As described in the samba wiki:
https://wiki.samba.org/index.php/Configure_DHCP_to_update_DNS_records_with_B
IND9
Everything is working fine so far, but I get an error message as shown below
in syslog:

Couple of CentOS 5.2 dhcp notes
1. Apparently, since I updated from 5.1 to 5.2, dhcpd no longer wants to
stay running. The config is sound, and I can start it from the
command-line with the "-d" flag and it serves up leases. But without
the -d flag, it just silently dies...
2. Syslog contains this little snippet:
dhcpd: Internet Systems Consortium DHCP Server V3.0.5-RedHat
Figured you'd want to know... ;)

Question about dhcpd.leases
Hi,
I'm running a DHCP server on my local network. I've noticed something
that puzzles me. Leases are written to /var/lib/dhcpd/dhcpd.leases, but
only - so it seems to me - if the address is not fixed in any way in
dhcpd.conf.
Here's a few stanzas of my dhcpd.conf :
host babasse {
hardware ethernet 00:0d:61:ae:6b:8f;
fixed-address 192.168.1.1;

Centos 7 dhcpd failure to allow a 2nd network over same interal nic

Personally, I don't understand how you expect the DHCP server to decide
which scope to use when a new connection appears on the network.
DHCP discovery queries are presented from 0.0.0.0 to 255.255.255.255, not to
a particular network's broadcast address.
I'd be interested to see what happens when one of your

Samba_dlz: canceling trasaction on zone domain
Hey Rowland,
Below is a cutdown version of my DHCP. As you can see, I haven't really set anything up for ddns-update. While using Samba4's internal DNS I had the setting 'ddns-update-style interim;' and it seemed to have worked fine. But with bind I'm not sure what else is needed.
Thanks for taking a look at it.

Thanks a lot. I'll take a read through it and see if I can get it working.

dhcp lease time hardware in script at dhcpd/Bind/Samba wiki page
There seems to be a slight issue with the instructions at the following
wiki page:
https://wiki.samba.org/index.php/Configure_DHCP_to_update_DNS_records_with_BIND9
The /usr/local/bin/dhcp-dyndns.sh script seems to use a hardwired value
for the lease expiry time of 3600 - independent of whatever is
configured in dhcpd.conf. With the examples provided, it should work, as
the example dhcpd.conf
