Headphones volume control not working in CentOS 7
Hi all, I hope someone could enlighten me... How could I resolve the fact that the volume controls of all the headphones I try on CentOS 7 are not working, they are OK on CentOS 6 but impossible to make them work on my Thinkpad Laptop with an iPhone headphones or a Marshal Monitor plugged with a jack connector... Those 2 headphones work correctly in CentOS 6... What could I do to get the same

7.3 and USB headphones
Hi all! I wish to give huge thankyous to KB and all the others who worked to get 7.3 out the door. Many thanks! I have some good things and some bad. A good thing is that unlike previous versions, when I plug in my USB headphones they are automatically recognized and I get sound without having to change anything! (which is a huge win from before when I had to mess with settings, sometimes for a

FLAC: headphones
hi flac list! I'm not sure if this question can be asked here, but here you go (it's a question for audiophiles only): I encode CDDA tracks to FLAC and play them on my Pocket PC (PDA). I'm looking for a high quality headphone to connect to my Pocket PC, but it must be an in-ear one but not like these: http://s7d1.scene7.com/is/image/vanns/770045336?$medium_item$ So no plastic things

Can you recommend some USB headphones
Or phones that work with Centos. I am making headway on my SIP testing, but I need a a couple (or 3) USB headphones or phones. I remember back quite at time ago I had problems with one with volume control (ie none!). So I am looking for a cheap USB headphone or 'real' VoIP phone. I am using SIP Communicator as my client.

Portable USB headset for VoIP
I'm trying to find a voip-suitable USB headset (I.E. headphones + microphone) which I can use with my laptop while I'm traveling and using Firefly or another softphone. I'm currently using a Logitech headset which works well (except the echo it generates toward the other caller when I turn up the gains too high), but it just doesn't carry well - in fact, I can't carry it in my

The volume control might be controlling the volume on an unused output. Well, I don't think so... there are only two choices there, Headphones and Line Out.

OT: good headphones?
This is off-topic, mostly, but I figure you guys will have some knowledge in this sound-quality-related area. I'm sitting here looking at the most recent "Musician's Friend" at headphones and thinking about getting a pair. They've got products from AKG, Fostex, Audio Technica, Nady, Sennheiser, and Sony, at price points ranging from $16 to $130 (list prices $20 to

mdf no sound issue
Jean Marc, Ok so I tested with the new code, same result- frame size= 160, filter length=160 ms/1280 samples, 8000 Hz diverged after 9564 calls/packets or 191 seconds. My system stays relatively in synch but is not perfect- difficult to measure if there is any clock drift, but it probably is. In order to make it break faster I use an open air usb microphone that is part of a logitech notebook

Hello: There is a bug in PulseAudio that does not allow automatic switch between computer speaker, and usb headphones. I would like to add a page to explain how to get around it. I searched online, and almost all of the posts are missing a lot of information. -- Ahmed Hassan <Ahmed at Linuxism.com>

Centos7.3-Mate
Hello All, I have this problem starting Centos7.3 - the official name escapes me at the moment. I often install Centos7 Minimal, then X Window System, then Mate desktop. This last step gives me trouble, and I have to run # yum groupinstall mate --skip-broken output: skipped packages: NetworkManager-I2tp ldns libreswan unbound-libs xl2tpd I realise this is probably an issue for EPEL

CentOS 7 MATE flakey mouse
I'm using the MATE desktop (via 'yum groupinstall "MATE Desktop"') on CentOS 7. I'm finding the mouse to be rather flakey in the sense that: - in MATE Terminal, clicking on text and dragging the mouse (in order to highlight the text and copy it to the X cut & paste buffer) will sometimes drop the highlight (thus not copying anything), or stop and
