Programming Problem (for loop, random # control, 3 dimentional graph)
Dear List, This is just a programming problem which i cannot seem to figure out. I am trying to get a set of power from a test (say, kolmogorov smirnov) out of a distribution (say, G-K distribution) as follows. I am trying to reduce to pain of writing the whole set of data points (p# below) using "for" loop. However, I seem to have some problem in it as the output "M" does not

Centos8.1 Plymouthd crash 913: ply_event_loop_watch_for_timeout: Assertion `seconds > 0.0' failed.
Hi, I?m running a special initrd generated for SystemImager with a special dracut module that relies on plyouth scripted theme. It works perfectly on CentOS-6, CentOS-7, OpenSUSE-42.3, Fedora-29 (not tested later) and used to work on CentOS-8.0 Since CentOS-8.1 was released, IT chrashes with the following error: Plymouthd crash 913: ply_event_loop_watch_for_timeout: Assertion `seconds >

[LLVMdev] [NVPTX] Eliminate common sub-expressions in a group of similar GEPs
Hi, We wrote an optimization that eliminates common sub-expressions in a group of similar GEPs for the NVPTX backend. It speeds up some of our benchmarks by up to 20%, which convinces us to try to upstream it. Here's a brief description of why we wrote this optimization, what we did, and how we did it. Loops in CUDA programs are often extensively unrolled by programmers and compilers,

Packages, generics, S3 and S4
My question has two parts. The first is with regard to the frame or environment in which generic functions are defined in packages. It seems as though they are defined (i.e. exist as objects) in frame 1, even when defined in a package. The following is a short example: setClass("track",representation(x="numeric",y="numeric")) plotTrack <- function(x,y,...)

Radeon 4800 or Ati in general viable for wine?
Longtime lurker and user of wine, but I'm about to replace my old nvidia card with a newer model and seeing as Ati is open sourcing their drivers. I was wondering if I should get a 4800 card, but only if the fglrx or x86-radeon driver is up to the task :) Like can it run direct3d 9 games like Eve? How about 2d performance in games like fallout 2 and planescape torment?

Initial Boot from 6.3 minimal halts with strange video display
I am using a Leveno M58 (model CTO7483 from 2008) for C6/7 experimentation purposes. The thing has a dual core and ~4Gb RAM with a (newly installed) 500GB HDD. I successfully installed CentOS-6.5-minimal from a freshly burned, and verified, DVD from and ISO image whose SHA has been checked and passed. everything about the display was normal throughout that process. When the system boots from

kickstart: dracut-initqueue fails due to unresolvable hostname even though network config looks perfectly ok
This problem still bites us. I've tried to play around with DHCP settings (rd.net.timeout.dhcp, rd.net.dhcp.retry) to no avail. I'm happy about /any/ hint.
