subscription alert box
I am continually getting the subscription alert panel popping up??? I leave the selection on the default which is to activate and say OK. It asks me for the root password - I enter it. It keeps coming back... I have network connectivity for the laptop. Any ideas? I saw nothing in /var/log/messages. whats the package that allows copy and paste between windows
What is the package that allows copy and paste between windows? I think I need to yum reinstall it. after the 5.6 update I get the copy button when I right click - (for example in thunderbird) put when I then goto a console window and try to right click and paste the paste is grey-ed or ghosted. Is there a package that controls the clip board or something? Thanks Jerry

As I thought - the NVIDIA log is saying "WRONG" Driver silly - use the 340xx driver. Again - original question was "yum install kmod-nvidia-3400xx" says no package available for elrepo ??? Jerry

cisco vpn client on linux
Is there a cisco vpn client for linux centso 5 AMD 64 bit? Using google it talks about cisco vpn client but everyplace to download is blocked. I then found a vpnc reference but did not find a 64 bit version. yum install vpnc did nothing.... What is my next step? Jerry

question on connecting speakers
Is there an ATA type device out there that has low level audio out for connecting speakers? My asterisk server is in one building, I wish to have speakers in another building and connect them up to a low level audio device that I can call into and speak. Issue updating to 7.6
Hi all... Great work on 7.6! I updated a number of boxes - all good! This "one" server I lost connection through the internet or something... Anyway 702 transactions left and its not happy. where is tunctl
I am following directions in http://wiki.centos.org/HowTos/KVM#head-c02a0b33e7949b0bc3b151ac6e0bdfb91b6bbd1c it says do yum install bridge-utils - works fine, they yum install tunctl does not find anything. yum provides "*/tunctl" does not find anything I am using 5.4 x86_64. Is this howto out of date? How do I get tunctl? Thanks, Jerry

Nvidia error
yes the error is still the .90 I looked back, everything was working Friday... I did a yum update on Friday but did not reboot. I rebooted this morning and I have the issue. The kernel package before was NOT the 693.5.2 it was 692.2.2 Does that help at all ? my kernel is not yet supported or something ? how can i get the source rpms for the packages installed on my centos 3.6 server? is there a certain repositories i have to add to my yum.conf? Im trying to setup a filtering program "smartfilter" and they want me to point to the source for squid, which i cant seem to find. can anyone shed some light on this for me? someone i was talking to said that centos strips out the source to

question on software raid
dmesg is not reporting any issues. The /proc/mdstat looks fine. md0 : active raid1 sdb1[1] sda1[0] X blocks [2/2] [UU] however /var/log/messages says: smartd[3392] Device /dev/sda 20 offline uncorrectable sectors The machine is running fine.. raid array looks good - what is up with smartd? Kickstart file for software raid
I am using a kickstart file for CentOS 7 raid / --device=md0 --fstype="xfs" --level=1 --useexisting raid /home --noformat --device=md1 --level=1 --useexisting It is erroring out on the --useexisting. The exact text is: RAID volume "0" specified with "--useexisting" does not exist. What did I do wrong? Jerry

performance lost in using a software raid array with only 1 disk
Is there any performance lost in using a software raid array with only 1 disk? I was wanting to use the mdadm monitoring tools to monitor the machines single disk drive for failures and such. Is there any performance hit for such a setup? Some machines have RAID some machines dont (for me) and I was thinking about a common setup.
