Problem with GT520 and optimus on Fedora 17
Hello,
I have an Asus laptop, U36SD, with Optimus technology.
The discrete gpu is an NVIDIA GeForce GT 520M with 1GB DDR3 VRAM
Using Fedora 17; up to kernel 3.3.7-1 I was able to use bumblebee and
bbswitch and then running optirun command (as I could do in F16).
No more with kernel 3.4. Tried 3.4.0-1.fc17.x86_64,
3.4.2-4.fc17.x86_64 and 3.4.3-1.fc17.x86_64.
I already opened a bug against F17:

[RFC GIT PATCHES] acpioff: COM32 module to shut off machine using ACPI
Hi all,
I have written a COM32 module called "acpioff", that, not surprisingly,
powers off a machine using ACPI. I have tested it only using pxelinux.0
with a SeaBIOS/Qemu virtual machine.
Since the changeset pulls in a "Linux-ized" version of the open source
ACPI Component Architecture, it was too big to post as a patches to the
list. See the git pull-request output below.

command line arguments are parsed differently on windows, from 3.4.3
One comment:
For your R devel example you didn't use spaces in the expression, i.e.
maybe that's broken too with spaces?
Three questions:
Does it work if you avoid spaces?
Does it work if you use single quotes?
Does this also occur for Rscript?
Thxs

I did. There are two R-devel examples, one with spaces (buggy) and one
without spaces (works).
To show that spaces are the problem.

A quick workaround if you needed to execute R expressions in Windows is
calling RTerm directly.
But a fix should be available soon.

Centos 6.4 - doesnt power off with shutdown/poweroff cmd
Hello,
I'm looking for help figuring out why I am having problems with shutting
down a machine.
I have tested the machine using Fedora 19 and Ubuntu 12 Live CD's and both
power down without issues.
I added acpi.debug_level=1 to the grub boot as it was suggested to see more
info about ACPI in the logs
I found the following ACPI Errors in the /var/log/messages

rhub vs. CRAN fedora-*-devel, using armadillo & slapack
Thank you for your answer.
In facts, 10 threads are asked by armadillo for some LinAlg, which backs to two threads as warned. But I cannot imagine this costs so much time just for that...
A deeper analysis of time spent seems to point that a large time was mainly spent on testthat and Rcpp dependencies compilation... But other recent packages depending on these also are not spending so much time.

rhub vs. CRAN fedora-*-devel, using armadillo & slapack
Dear R-devel people,
We are working to submit a package which is mainly a binding over a C++ lib (https://github.com/libKriging) using armadillo.
It is _not_ a standard RcppArmadillo package, because we also had to provide a python binding... so there is a huge layer of cmake & scripting to make it work with a standard armadillo (but using same version that RcppArmadillo).
It seems now
