CentOS 7.6 1810 vs. VirtualBox : bug with keyboard layout selection
Hi, I'm currently working on my next Linux book, which will be an elementary course about CentOS administration. I'm using VirtualBox for all the installer screenshots. Since CentOS has recently been upgraded to version 7.6, I thought I might as well base all book references on this version. So I downloaded the 7.6 1810 minimal ISO and started a fresh installation in VirtualBox. I'm

Keyboard layout switching bug: workaround?
Hi, I'm an Austrian writer living in Montpezat (South France). I've been 100% GNU/Linux for the past five years, and I recently switched from Slackware to CentOS, for the sake of comfort. Overall impression: I like it! I have a few problems to solve yet in my migration effort, mostly minor annoyances. First things first. I need three different keyboard layouts: de, fr_CH and fr. I'm

[PATCH 0/3] Timezone and keyboard layout settings in virt-builder and virt-sysprep.
Setting timezone is easy. It turns out to be almost impossible to set keyboard layout in virt-builder sanely, so I have added some examples instead. Coming up next, setting languages in virt-builder (clue: very very very hard). Rich.

4.4 on Dell D620: widescreenresolution?
Hi, Did anyone manage to get 4.4 working on a Dell D620 laptop? The thing has a 1440x900 LCD screen, but I don't get X the work with that resolution. (lspci: Intel Corporation Mobile 945GM/GMS/940GML Express Integrated Graphics Controller (rev 03)) Google suggested to use '915resolution', which I installed (915resolution-0.5.2-1.el4.rf), but that doesn't help. Syslinux keyboard mappings
Hi, I finally want to end the fights we have had in the past with keyboard mappings. I already curse the person who is responsible for this keyboard mess (and even more the persons who could have create a 'detect keyboard' kind of functionality in modern PCs :)) But the general problem is this, BIOSes are US qwerty, Belgium uses be-latin1 (azerty with lots of custom keys). And to

CentOS 7.6 1810 vs. VirtualBox : bug with keyboard layout selection

My only use for VirtualBox is making screenshots of the installer, and sometimes for a quick test, because it's easy to make a VM clone in a single click. Niki -- Microlinux -

can not install package "matie"
Varin In the teaching you to fish department, you can find those dependencies Duncan appeared to pull out of thin air by looking at the CRAN contributed packages web pages, which can easily be found with Google. Start at the matie page and follow the dependency links and look at dependencies. In particular the error message mentioning the proxy package is a clue that dependencies might be a
