Trouble setting up HP Officejet Pro 8600 printer on CentOS 7 + KDE
Hi Niki don't you need a hplip addon/plugin, which you can fetch from http://hplipopensource.com/hplip-web/install/install/index.html There, with the wizard, you get a file hplip-3.x.x.run which you download and run using bash hplip-3.x.x.run This will install the addon/plugin. suomi On 11/11/2016 08:49 AM, Nicolas Kovacs wrote: > Hi, > > I just installed a CentOS 7 + KDE desktop

HP OfficeJet Printing
There has been a bit of grumbling recently about HP printer capability in one of our smallest prototyping Labs.? We have a single GigE switch connecting a Windows 7 machine and a Dell/CentOS-6 machine.? The CentOS machine also has connectivity via another network.? Currently, only the Windows 7 machine has been setup for printing on our HP OfficeJet 8615. Our Samba effort on the CentOS system has

hplip under CentOS-5.5
Is anyone successfully using hplip under CentOS? When I try to print on my HP Officejet J4580 I always get the error ---------------------------------- Printer Filter "foomatic-rip-hplip" for printer "oj" not available: No such file or directory ---------------------------------- What I find puzzling is that I have googled for this, and it appears there has been the same

Erratic local hostname resolution with Dnsmasq
Hi, My local server is running CentOS 7. The machine has two NICs and is acting as a gateway. For DHCP and DNS, I'm using Dnsmasq. I have a strange little problem with local hostname resolution. Before going into more details, here's my configuration. [root at nestor:~] # ifconfig enp2s0: flags=4163<UP,BROADCAST,RUNNING,MULTICAST> mtu 1500 inet 192.168.0.2 netmask

CentOS 7 + HPLIP = blank page
Hi, I just installed CentOS 7 + KDE on a new workstation in my office. I tried to setup my printer, but the test page is blank. Here's some details. The printer is an HP OfficeJet 8600 Pro. It works perfectly with all other desktop clients running Slackware Linux and HPLIP. I installed hplip and hplip-gui, launched HP Toolbox and then setup the printer - a network printer - which is mainly

Setting up HP OfficeJet 5610 fax on CentOS 4.4 shared
Hi there, As the subject says, I'm trying to set up an HP OfficeJet 5610 on CentOS 4.4 for shared use across my machines. I've managed to get printing (through HPLIP/ CUPS/ SAMBA) and scanning (through SANE) shared; but I'm unable to get fax shared working. Is it possible to do that? The instructions on the HPLIP page talk about installing the 5610 as a fax device and then faxing

HP OfficeJet Printing
Why go through all this trouble when you can connect the printer to the network directly and be done with it? -- Sent from the Delta quadrant using Borg technology! CentOS 5.4 x86_64 and HPLIP-3.9.12
I recently purchased a HP Officejet Pro 8500 (A909a) and it's ethernet attached. It's been configured and works perfectly from WinXP, Win Vista, Windows 7, and Fedora 11 x86_64. However, on my machine running CentOS 5.4 x86_64 I can't get the configuration to work so that it prints duplex (2-sided). The HP Setup appears to be working from the command line, but the graphic

Can I use Wine to Run the Scan Function of a HP Officejet 4215?
Hello, I have been trying to use the scan function of my HP Officejet 4215 by invoking sane. And that is not working. As an alternative, I hope I could run Wine as Windows XP and read in the HP cd that came with my printer to setup the printer and the scan function. Right now the printer works. It prints, copies, scans (using HP Director) and faxes and scan under Windows XP. Under

CentOS5:Printer Won't Work
I have a HP OfficeJet K80xi "all-in-one" USB printer. When I send a file to the printer from a virtual console using the command : lp "anyfilename", the response is "request ID is HPOJK80-7 (1 file(s)". There is no printer action, no sound, nothing. The printers name is HPOJK80; the -7 is the job number. The command lpstat shows there are a total of 7 jobs in the

Issue with HP Officejet 6500 on CentOS 5.5
I just picked one of these up to replace my 4315, which broke (I think the feeder roller gear broke from an overstuffed feeder), but it's giving me problems. I had no trouble configuring it to print, but it doesn't appear in lsusb and xsane can't find it, so I can't scan with it, which is the main reason I bought it in the first place. I've tried restarting the autofs service

Problems sharing HP Officejet 6210 Linux --> XP
[cross-posted from www.tek-tips.com] Dear samba forum, I've now wasted most of a weekend on this issue, so now it's time to swallow my pride and ask for help! Background: My main home computer died. I can't afford to replace it right now, so I'm attempting to retread an old AMD PC into a linux print/file server. Clients are a mixed bag of Windows XP home/professional PCs. The

HP Network Printer Issue - Resend
I sent the following message back in June, but I must have missed the reply: I'm attempting to install and configure HPLIP (HP Linux Imaging and Printing) software on my CentOS 5.3 x86_64 system without success. I've got a HP Officejet Pro 8500 multi-function printer connected via ethernet. I'm getting a message saying that it cannot locate the libcups module

HPLIP vs. CentOS
Hi, Our local school has recently acquired an HP PageWide Pro 477 professional printer. According to HP, the printer requires HPLIP 3.16.3 at least. Unfortunately, CentOS is only shipping HPLIP 3.15.9. So I downloaded and installed the hplip/hplipfull package from the HP site. Installing this thing and getting it to work is not exactly a trivial task, as I documented in my blog:

Recent HPLIP: where's that doc?
Hi, The HPLIP package included in CentOS 5 is one of those packages that lags almost pathologically behind. Now I remember having seen some *official* (HP) documentation describing the procedure to follow to install the *latest* HPLIP on CentOS 5. As far as I can remember, there were even some RHEL5 RPMS on that site. But I can't seem to find that page anymore. Anyone remembers it? Niki
