Predict polynomial problem
I have a function that fits polynomial models for the orders in n:
lmn <- function(d,n){
models=list()
for(i in n){
models[[i]]=lm(y~poly(x,i),data=d)
}
return(models)
}
My data is:
> d=data.frame(x=1:10,y=runif(10))
So first just do it for a cubic:

Centos 7 and php 5.5
I am hoping that the wisdom of the group here can at least point me in
the right direction.
I have a Centos7 server that I need to upgrade php from 5.4 to 5.5. I've
tried several tutorials to add the remi repository and enable php55, but
I always end up at the same result:
Error: Package: php-5.5.38-1.el6.remi.x86_64 (remi-php55)
Requires: httpd-mmn = 20051115

xorg-x11-drv-intel CR update breaks X server for Intel HD520
Hi,
As a consequence of rolling out CR updates on Latitude E7470 (Skylake
chipset), X would no longer start until I rolled back all of the
xorg-\* packages. And to be more precise, looks like the culprit is
xorg-x11-drv-intel:
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1445583
as the CR package release version matches the one mentioned in Comment
#2, in the regression context.

You posted in a recent email in this same email thread, about
successfully booting an ArchLinux USB. Among several differences in
comparison to your prior tests, you used a

Request for Wiki edit permission - booting into kickstart from all-in-one USB flash drive
I'm currently testing a process very similar to that found here:

And would like to update that doc with my observations once confirmed.
Preliminary notes (not all relevant to that specific WikiPage - suggestions
for where to put the non-kickstart info?

OT: Dell BIOS and mixed drives
I have a Dell Precision 360, which has both onboard
SATA and ultra ATA controllers, and I put one of each
kind of drive into the bays to make an experimental
machine with the xen kernel.
After enabling both of drives, the BIOS recognizes
each drive, but it fails to boot, giving me the
message "secondary drive 1 not found". The BIOS gives
me a choice of going ahead or going to setup.

Dell and pxelinux keyboard problems
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-----
Hash: SHA1
Hi,
I am having trouble with one Dell system and pxelinux: The keyboard does
not properly work.
The computer boots, I press F12 to select the boot device, then I select
the network card. Up to that point the keyboard works fine.
Then pxelinux is booted, and I use menu.c32 to display a menu (or
vesamenu.c32 - same result). Now the keyboard does not

"isolinux.bin missing or corrupt" when booting USB flash drive in old PC
syslinux at zytor.com:
I have two older computers with Intel D865GBFLK motherboards (~2003)
and Pentium 4 HT CPU's. They both have the latest available BIOS
installed. I would like to put Debian on them.
I have downloaded:
http://cdimage.debian.org/debian-cd/current/i386/iso-cd/debian-8.7.1-i386-xfce-CD-1.iso
When I put debian-8.7.1-i386-xfce-CD-1.iso on a CD-R, it boots correctly.

New page InstallFromUSBkey
A new draft page has been created on how to set a USB key to install
CentOS from ISO images. This would be most useful for netbooks or other
systems without a CD/DVD drive.

help booting iso's?
Hi. I prefer using the syslinux boot loader and recently undertook a
project of creating a multiboot USB drive that boots using syslinux. The
aim is to create a medium from which various live linux environments can
be run for things like system maintenance, installation, and perhaps
demonstration. I anticipate using this multiboot USB drive on mostly
legacy, BIOS systems, if that matters.

SanDisk Flash Drive error
Hi all- I'm trying to use a SanDisk Cruzer Micro flash drive (usb,
512MB). It has CruzerLock version 2.0 Security software in it. When
I plug it in, it is recognized OK. When I open the drive, I have a
file to open: CruzerLock2.exe. It has the Wine icon. But when I
click on it, I get:
