Linux TCP flaw
Hi
So after reading this, felt I should apply the fix to a CentOS6 VPS that
I have.
http://www.zdnet.com/article/linux-tcp-flaw-lets-anyone-hijack-internet-traffic/
The article doesn't talk about CentOS or Redhat, but I assume the
problem is the same, and hoping the solution is the same.
However that doesn't seem to be the case.

Suddenly getting lots of "Unable to send packet: Address Family mismatch between source/destination" but ONLY on 1 of 2 VPSs in same datacentre.
Two VPSs. Identical setups with the exception of the extension.
Same version of everything, Asterisk 14.1, Ubuntu 16.10, same firewall
rules and so on - box 2 was cloned from box 1.
Both VPSs run in the same datacentre.
Suddenly, after weeks of OK, I'm getting lots of this on ONE box only:
[Nov 4 21:23:04] NOTICE[1468]: res_hep.c:466 hep_queue_cb: Unable to

Automounted home dirs not working
I'm testing Dovecot as a possible replacement for UW. In my environment
the home directories are automounted via NFS from a NetApp. In general
this works fine, but Dovecot isn't picking up the automounted
directories. Consider the case of Arthur Dent, test user:

os update with plesk
Hi,
I have plesk server administration 7.5.4 on my server and am wanting to
upgrade to plesk 8.
Plesk 8 supports Centos 4.2 and the notes on the 4.2 readme say:
http://mirror.centos.org/centos/4.2/readme
If you know what you are doing, and absolutely want to remain at the 4.2
level, go to http://vault.centos.org/ for packages.
If you follow the other link listed in that doc it goes to the

Multi-user app
Hi All,
Which is the best way to handle multi-user applications in Rails
(think backpack)?
Let me try to explain what I am trying to do:
I wrote an application and sold it to different companies. For every
company I sold the
app to, I deployed a fresh Rails app to a fresh 256MB VPS and provided
a superuser
account (to the app, not the server).
Customers handle their own users from there as

mysql problems
I installed plesk(first mistake at least here..<G>) and it got in my way
in some area more than it helped. The first thing it did was deny root
access to mysqld and i could not find the username and password for
adding another database. I removed plesk and mysql. when i used yum to
reinstall mysql i was then told root @ localhost was denied. I removed
mysql again and nuked all of

centos version numbers
Hi,
I am running centos 4.2 version on my server. The /etc/redhat-release file
lists centos 4.4 (final). In my Plesk server administration it also shows
centos 4.2. I need to upgrade plesk and am suppose to have centos 4.3 to do
this upgrade.
In the past I have run "yum update" and the OS was always updated to the
next version but this no longer works on my server. When I try yum

Domain setup w/ RoR & Plesk
Hi all. I have Rails installed on a dedicated virtual server that''s
running Plesk.
I''ve been told by my hosting service that removing or altering Plesk''s
default domain root folder (httpdocs) is likely to muck things up.
So what''s my best option for setting up rails apps, given that I can''t
create them as the domain root?

form problem
Hi,
I am using CentOS 3.5 plus the Plesk reloaded 7.3 server admin and just
recently did a small upgrade of some plesk packages plus the update from
CentOS 3.4 to 3.5.
It seems that all of my forms have stopped working using nms FormMail.pl
script. Everything was working before these last two updates. I have debug
set on the form script and it does work without any errors but I never get

works best with centos 4+? CPanel or Plesk?
Hi there i was wondering if anyone on this list has any comments on
CPanel vs Plesk on Centos 4+? Looking for the one that best work with
the "out of the box" RPMs for Centos.
Thanks in advance!

Drupal/MySQL performance in Xen and OpenVZ
Hi,
We are considering a transition from OpenVZ to Xen for our web server
infrastructure. The primary task performed by the virtual servers is to run
a number of Drupal sites with a MySQL backend. The webserver and MySQL
servers are on separate virtual hosts. We also have a number of smaller
hosts running on the same hardware (a couple of dev-servers, a
logging-and-monitoring server, a secondary

security breach - ftp?
Hi,
I'm running Plesk 11.0.9 on a Centos 5.5.
A website on that box got hacked last week and malicious code got inserted
into some html/php files. So I went to find out what happened...
I found no back doors by using rkhunter or manually searching for
suspicious files in /tmp, etc. No activity at all in the php logs at the
time of the attack. I also analysed of course the system logs

root@localhost email problem
I have another problem with the email root at localhost not working now on
centos 3.5 with plesk.
This has always worked in the past. Anytime I test my ecommerce store the
default email address has been root at localhost and has sent an email to my
domain email address when testing. Just recently this has stopped working.
The ecommerce store is php. I contacted the ecommerce store developer

NS Question
Hello everyone,
I got a question, I'm not new in the linux scene or even a geek, but I
am confused about certain stuff regarding Bind, DNS stuff, or
whatsoever, maybe it's a silly question. Anyway.
About 3 years ago I hired a dedicated server in certain company, for
hosting my site and some other sites, didn't work at all the plan I
had, nevertheless I was using Redhat 9 or something

It affects RHEL6 which runs 2.6.32, they backported the features that it
affects. If the above openvz kernel was based on a RHEL6 kernel (and
I'd guess it was) then it's affected.
