GlusterFS 3.4 Fuse client Performace
Dear GlusterFS Engineer, I have questions that my glusterfs server and fuse client perform properly on below specification. It can write only *65MB*/s through FUSE client to 1 glusterfs server (1 brick and no replica for 1 volume ) - NW bandwidth are enough for now. I've check it with iftop - However it can write *120MB*/s when I mount nfs on the same volume. Could anyone check if the

Weird question about OpenCL/SwiftShader (Magical Loop)
Hi guys, I got a really weird questions in my mind... You probably know, Transgaming Swiftshader is converting on the fly DirectX9 GPU accesses to CPU (aka 100% software rendering). (With this, wrapped inside Wine, I can start some games that never worked before). But, software rendering is too slow to play games seriously. Maybe it's a fool idea, but could Wine share back computation to

Bug#797205: xen-hypervisor-4.4-amd64: Xen live migration dom0 memory swap
Package: xen-hypervisor-4.4-amd64 Version: 4.4.1-9+deb8u1 Severity: important I already posted this on the xen-devel-mailinglist but no one seems to have an answer. I'm posting it here because perhaps someone using Debian and Virtualization might have an idea about this? Since Debian 8 I observe that live migrating a PVM on XEN 4.4.1 (also 4.5.1) and Linux Kernel 4.1.0 (also 3.18) requires

Spurious Segmentation Fault after upgrade to 7.4
After upgrading approx. 50 machines to 7.4 we discovered a reproducible SegFault of one of our commercial programs we use. This SegFault does not occur on CentOS 7.3 and it occurs only on Xeon E3-1230 V3, Xeon E5-2690 and Xeon E5-2697 v2. It does NOT occur on Xeon E5-2697 v3 and Xeon E3-1231 v3, AMD Ryzen and older Core I7-9xx. It is not dependent of the kernel, we switched back to an CentOS

Thank you for a quick answer, Dmitry! We have tried the settings you suggested but nothing helped. The machine is running 4.4.0-104 kernel, 4 cores, Intel(R) Xeon(R) CPU E5-2620 v3 @ 2.40GHz, clocksource is hyperv_clocksource_tsc_page, timing module is res_timing_timerfd.so. We have also tried to set 50% Reserve - no luck :(. ??, 18 ???. 2017 ?. ? 10:49, Dmitriy Ermakov <demonihin at

CPU for Dovecot
Hi, we are planning to change hardware for our standalone Dovecot instance handling ~5800 IMAP users with 1TB mailboxes on local RAID. Is there some recommendation about CPU? We can choose from: - Intel Xeon E5-2620v4 - 2,1GHz at 8,0GT 20MB cache, 8core, HT, 85W, LGA2011 - Intel Xeon E5-2623v4 - 2,6GHz at 8,0GT 10MB cache, 4core, HT, 85W, LGA2011 The difference is about more cores vs. hi

RFC: Proposing an LLVM subproject for parallelism runtime and support libraries
Jason, It's great that Google are interested in contributing to the development of LLVM in this area, and that you have code to support offload. However, I'm not sure that all of it is needed, since LLVM already has the offload library which has been being developed in the context of OpenMP, but actually provides a general facility. It has been a part of LLVM since April 2014, and is

[LLVMdev] Re : ANN: libclc (OpenCL C library implementation)
Hello, I am the developer of Clover, and so much activity about OpenCL these days is really exciting. Here is my point of view, mainly on Clover and how the projects could use each other. Clover is made in a way that allow a certain level of modularity. Although POCL would be very difficult to merge into Clover (or Clover into POCL), as these two projects are nearly exactly doing the same things

KVM on CentOS 7 - sluggish performance with Win10 Guest
Hey all,  I've been running a Win10 Pro (64bit) guest for some time now.... and originally it was pretty snappy and I had no complaints. Somewhere in about the last 3-6 months I've been noticing sluggish performance -- but not overall. The system is mostly remote so I do a lot of my admin via RDP or the local console with the KVM Manager. I recently did a complete fresh install of
