Locale problem with Wine
Hello, I can't seem to make World of Warcraft recognize my locale. In windows all the special keys that belongs to my locale (tr_TR) works so I know for a fact that WoW supports it. After some google research I learned that I need to set my locale settings manually. First of all here is some outputs Code: cosku at cosku-desktop:~$ locale -a C en_AU.utf8 en_BW.utf8 en_CA.utf8 en_DK.utf8

High memory needs [SOLVED]
I finally found a solution to our problem. I think some people running like us a combination CentOS 64 bits\Sun Grid Engine, could encounter the same situation. Here is a detailed explanation, hope it can be useful to someone! The file /usr/lib/locale/locale-archive is a memory-mapped file used by glibc (the gnu C library). This file contains the languages used over the system (for instance, man

Problems starting wine...
I'm hoping someone can help me out with this... I've been running the Wine package in Debian/Woody for quite a while now, and have been able to run most of the windows programs I want to. However, for some reason wine just stopped working for me. Here is the error output for every windows program I run: For language 'english' several language ids were found: en_US - 0409; en_GB

Russian Letters are displayed as "?????????"
Hello everyone, I have encountered the problem that when I run an application under Wine, all Cyrillic letters are shown as ?????????. To solve this problem, I've checked the similar topic Letters like ???????????? :( (http://forum.winehq.org/viewtopic.php?t=6737&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=0). But, unfortunately it didn't quite work. Letters in the application now look

Cannot build custom locale with utf-8 charset
I am trying, without success, to compile a custom locale for the utf-8 character set. I have issued this command: localedef --no-archive -f UTF-8 -i /usr/share/i18n/locales/en_CA at yyyy-mmm-dd en_CA at yyyy-mmm-dd.utf8 which produces the requisite files without reporting an error but which none-the-less insists on using the iso-8859-1 charset: LC_ALL=en_CA at yyyy-mm-dd locale charmap

reproducible segmentation fault caused by textConnection()
Dear all, It seems that textConnection() can trigger a segmentation fault. The following script (using two large loops) makes this bug reproducible: for (i in 1:10000) { z=textConnection(NULL,open='w') for (j in 1:100) { write(runif(1)*1e6,file=z) write('\n',file=z) } close(z) } The bug could be reproduced on R-2.6.1, R-2.7.0 and on the latest R-devel

Psssst. The US is asleep - let's talk intern ationalization !!!
And let's also spell things properly! Like 'internationalisation' ...'Weasels have got into your phone system' instead of 'gotten into your phone system...' And 'please press the hash key..' instead of 'pound key' There should probably be en_uk, en_us, en_ca, en_za, en_nz, en_oz, en_ie and en_in etc to allow each English-speaking country to localise

sessionInfo() fails to correctly detect locale settings
Dear R devels Yesterday I was slightly surprised to notice that R incorrectly detected some of the locale settings. I am not sure whether this is important, but I preferred to drop a message. In the R output below, some entries that should have been "en_GB.UTF-8" are presented as "C". Regards Liviu > sessionInfo() R version 2.9.1 (2009-06-26) x86_64-pc-linux-gnu locale:

Dear developers, I came across with a bug while parsing Rd files. Given is the following minimal Rd file: ---- \name{foo} \title{foo} \description{ #ifdef windows win #endifd #ifdef unix unix #endif } ---- By accident I have a typo at line 6, instead of having #endif I typed #endifd. Locale problems on Solaris
Hi there. With OpenSSH 3.0.2p1 on Solaris, the locale does not appear to get set correctly at login, as it does with, say telnet: /etc/default/init: TZ=GB CMASK=022 LC_COLLATE=en_GB.ISO8859-1 LC_CTYPE=en_GB.ISO8859-1 LC_MESSAGES=C LC_MONETARY=en_GB.ISO8859-1 LC_NUMERIC=en_GB.ISO8859-1 LC_TIME=en_GB.ISO8859-1 When logging in via SSH: scot /home/scot > locale LANG=

Issue with seek() on gzipped connections in R-devel
Dear all, In R-devel (2011-09-23 r57050), I'm running into a serious problem with seek()ing on connections opened with gzfile(). A warning is generated and the file position does not seek to the requested location. It doesn't seem to occur all the time - I tried to create a small example file to illustrate it, but the problem didn't occur. However, it can be seen with a file I use for

include S4 class and methods in a package
DeaR list, Pardon the stupidity of this question but I've been trying this for a while now without success. I've followed the example given in the green book "programming with data", and I now have a working example of a S4 class with a few methods (plot, summary, as.data.frame). It's all very nice in one file, but I cannot find the way to put this information in a

Emacs, Gnus, HTML emails and nbsp's...
