Xen Dom0 with FibreChannel (FC) can''t export disk to DomU
Hello all, I have a problem with Xen and FibreChannel. The Dom0 can''t export a Disk on a FibreChannel SAN-Box to the DomU''s. In the DomU configuration I try: disk = [ ''phy:/dev/sdb1,/dev/sda1,w'' ] or disk = [ ''file:/mnt/sambashare.img,sda1,w'' ] sambashare.img is a 512MB great Diskimage on a Partition on the FC-SAN-Box, the Dom0 mount this

OT: LSI SAS1068e / Perc6/iR RAID Health
Is anybody here monitoring Dell SAS6/iR RAID health? I have a mix of CentOS 5.9 and 6.3 installs on the PE1950s. I'm finding drivers and Megaraid Storage Manager downloads via LSI's site, but I'd prefer not to install a bunch of crapware. All I need is the proper LSI daemon which exports info via SNMP. I've used check_sasraid_megaraid Nagios script [0] in the past for PERC5i and

LSI SAS 2008 controller in a pv domu
Hello, I am trying to pass my LSI SAS 2008 controller to my PV domu (openindiana) and I can not get it working. I have read that xen does not support the loading of option ROM''s in pv domu''s and that this support is being, or will be, added. http://markmail.org/thread/2njw43iaurmvzlys This post is more than a year old now. I am wondering if there is a way to get my LSI SAS

mptsas driver failing in Xen-3.4 unstable version
On Xen-3.4 (unstable version), I have created CentOS PV guest and dedicated 1068 SAS controller but I am not able to see the disk which is connected to 1068 SAS controller when I do fdisk -l (vtd support is enabled in Xen). Looks like the pci device(SAS controller) is getting dedicated successfully as I can see the device in the list of pci devices shown by lspci. 05:00.0 SCSI storage

Fujitsu RX200 S3
Alle, I am trying to install CentOS 5 on a Dual Xeon 5160 FJ RX200 S3. The RAID hardware is an internal LSI MPT 1068 SAS/RAID controller (LSI 1068SASIME-2300). I have downloaded the drivers (mptsas, mptscsih and mptbase) and created the required floppy. When I run linux dd after booting from either the DVD or Disk 1 of the CentOS distro, it says it loads mptsas, mptbase and mptscsih and

CentOS 6, mptfusion software? sort of solved
More googling, and then something I wouldn't have thought of: smartctl doesn't work on this HBA against /dev/sd*. HOWEVER, it's happy as a clam against /dev/sgx, and there's my RAID, /dev/sg0 and /dev/sg1 (which lshw also was able to show me), but now, at least, I can run smartctl tests on the drives, and hopefully one will say, "Bad! Bad!". mark

I don't believe that is correct. LSI acquired 3ware, and Avago acquired LSI. Advice on small office UPS
Hello Folks, I have a couple of questions - one about a basic UPS choice I am to make for a small UK office environment and the second about NUT Windows support. For the UPS, I have 2 or 3 servers, a phone system and a switch i.e. a basic : - Dell R410 1U (2x IEC) - Dell SC1425 1U (1x IEC) - Mitel 3300 CXi phone system (1x IEC) - Netgear GS748T switch (1x IEC) It would be good to also be able

Disk failure chokes all the disks attached to the failing disk HBA
Dear All, It may be this not the correct mailing list, but I''m having a ZFS issue when a disk is failing. The system is a supermicro motherboard X8DTH-6F in a 4U chassis (SC847E1-R1400LPB) and an external SAS2 JBOD (SC847E16-RJBOD1). It makes a system with a total of 4 backplanes (2x SAS + 2x SAS2) each of them connected to a 4 different HBA (2x LSI 3081E-R (1068 chip) + 2x LSI

Is LSI SAS3081E-R suitable for a ZFS NAS ?
According to various posts the LSI SAS3081E-R seems to work well with OpenSolaris. But I''ve got pretty chilled-out from my recent problems with Areca-1680''s. Could anyone please confirm that the LSI SAS3081E-R works well ? Is hotplug supported ? Anything else I should know before buying one of these cards ? Thanks, Arnaud

Kernel oopses with gluster fuse on squeeze
Hi, We've been experiencing repeated (every other day) oopses on hosts with high load glusterfs accesses. Co-occurrent (not immediately tho, but there is some sort of connection) are hanging nginx processes (doing the accessing), which can not be stopped, killed and also block the shutdown of the respective openvz instance. I think I remember at least one instance where this occurred without

Hardware performance question : Disk RPM speed & Xen Performance
Hello, I am a relatively new user of Xen virtualization, so you''ll have to forgive the simplistic nature of my question. I have a Dell R410 poweredge server (dual quad core CPUs + 32gb ram). I plan on utilizing this server with Xen. The ''dilemma'' I am having is whether or not to replace the 2x 500gb 7.2K RPM drives that came with the server with faster 300gb
