VNC server issue- Gnome - oh no! Something has gone wrong
Hi All,
The other thing we have noticed after booting is, screen is completely
blank. GUI is not visible on attached monitor.
We tried switching between different terminals using (Ctl+Alt+F1-12). F2-6
are showing command line terminals but, others are returning blank screen
only.
It appears that, there is some problem with GUI/gnome. Is there any way to
fix this? Please help.

Hersh

VNC server issue- Gnome - oh no! Something has gone wrong
I forgot to mention, I have followed steps mentioned in this link
https://access.redhat.com/documentation/en-US/Red_Hat_Enterprise_Linux/7/html/System_Administrators_Guide/ch-TigerVNC.html
for configuring vnc.
I have also tried upgrading VNCserver but that didn't help either.

VNC on centOS
Hi,
I have recently installed centOS 7 and trying to start vnc server on it.
Somehow, I am unable to make vncserver working. I have modified iptable
rules and xstartup file but it did not help.
Has anyone else faced this problem earlier? Any help would be appreciated.

Broken output for fdisk -l
There were no live connections.
The problem what we had was more related to OS requirement for some
software. This drive was not in a bad shape.

To get mate to show up use the follow text in your

To my understanding, when you install centos-7 with options ServerGUI or

wiki - vnc -gerald and walsh, update?
To GeraldClark and PjWelsh,
I have centos 6 and used your guide to get it going with vnc.
First of all thanks for putting that up, so many techs told me I did not
have to install a desktop to make it work and they were so wrong.
http://wiki.centos.org/HowTos/VNC-Server
Using centos 6 I found some differences and wanted to post them here to
see if anything helps clear it all up.

VNC question
We have run into the infamous black screen problem with tigervnc under CentOS7, which prompted me to look into how vnc is configured here.
https://access.redhat.com/solutions/966063
Am I reading this correctly - root needs to set up a systemd vnc service for every user and display individually? Compared to e.g. CentOS before 7, or indeed any other Linux/Unix system where vnc is completely under

Centos7 Cant start vncserver
OK, first time configuring vncserver on Centos7. I have read through a
bunch of old messages here on vncserver and thought I had it. Obviously
not.
1) cp /usr/lib/systemd/system/vncserver at .service
/etc/systemd/system/vncserver at .service
2) vi /etc/systemd/system/vncserver at .service
I changed <USER> in both places to root
3) systemctl daemon-reload
4) systemctl

vncserver on CentOS 7
I am trying to setup a centos 7.1 vncserver
I cannot believe they went from a relatively easy process in 6 to the
"crazyness" that is 7.
I did the following:
yum install tigervnc-server
cp /lib/systemd/system/vncserver at .service
/etc/systemd/system
systemctl daemon-reload
edit /etc/systemd.system/vncserver at .service

Secure VNC access from iPad
Dear Gurus
If any of you have been successful in using an iPad as a VNC client
with SSH tunnelling, I'd love to know how it's done. I have tried
using the iSSH application, but without success.
I know that the server is accessible from a Windows client (using
TigerVNC), via an SSH tunnel, so the server is properly configured.
If you have a working example, please let me know what

OH NO, Something has gone wrong!
Hi all!
I'm setting up C7-64 as a VM using VirtualBox, on a Windows host.
as soon as I install the vbox Guest Extensions and reboot, when I log
in next time I get a white screen with a frowny face that says "Oh No,
Something has gone wrong!" and then "A problem has occurred, and the
system can't recover, please log out and try again."
Sounds like a VirtualBox problem

Automatic vncviewer startup
Hello,
is there a way to start automatically the vncviewer when a domU starts?
When I was using the xm toolstack I could use "xm create domain.cfg -vncviewer"
or something similar (if I''m not wrong), but I don''t know how to do it with the
xl toolstack. At the moment, I have to create the domain using
xl create domU.cfg, then xl list to see the domU id and then xl

[LLVMdev] Segmentation Fault
Hello,
I am learning to write passes in LLVM and currently using LLVM 2.6. I
followed the steps mentioned to write the helloworld pass and when i run it
using opt, I get a Seg Fault. Not able to figure out why this is happening.
It would be great if someone can point out where I am going wrong.
Thanks.
Hersh.

Add repo for xfig package
Hi All
We want to install packages like xfig and transfig on centos 5.5. We found rpms available but them but it seems there are lot of dependencies for these packages. So we would like to setup yum repo for this. Can anyone suggest trusted baseurl for yum repo?
