Problems with Acer netbook freezing on syslinux bootup
Hi!
I'm not a programmer, so I will try and be as clear as I can.
I currently have an Acer Aspire One which has issues with syslinux 4.06
When I try and make a usb bootable install key using common automated
programs under windows (Universal USB installer from Pendrivelinux, LiLi
and unetbootin), they all fail when booted on the netbook.
Now, I know it's an issue with syslinux for many

Related to the new laptop question: CentOS on a netbook?
I've got a netbook, circe 2009. When I got it, not that I was wild about
ubuntu, but there was specifically an ubuntu netbook remix. Well, it's a
few years later - has anyone put CentOS (6, preferably) on a netbook, and
were there any problems?

HP Mini 1010NR
Very rarely is a netbook officially announced any more, as it is more often revealed by another means.
The upcoming HP Mini 210 netbook (http://www.laptopspark.com/products/HP-EliteBook-8540w-XT904UTABA-Notebook-Intel-Core-i7-640M280GHz-156-4GB-Memory-DDR3-1333-320GB-HDD-7200rpm-DVD-Super-Multi-NVIDIA-Quadro-FX-880M-laptop-1129.html) has been reveled by two sources, an Internet retailer which

Centos 5.4 on Acer Aspire One
I currently have my Acer Aspire One netbook set up with Fedora 11. I
would like to change it over to Centos 5.4 if I can.
I downloaded the Centos 5.4 i386 livecd image and made a bootable USB
flash drive out of it. Unfortunately, when I boot off of that flash
drive, Grub (I guess) immediately turns the screen entirely white. If I
hit a key I can faintly see the outline of "Press tab to

modestly priced laptop for C7
I'm looking to replace my (old, creaky) netbook (Acer Aspire One D255e,
a screaming dual core 1.6 GHz Atom, and a whole 2 gigs of RAM) with
something faster but not too large. Sometimes (usually) the netbook is
painfully slow.
Something like a hi-res 14 (or 15) inch screen (full HD), minimum of 4 gigs
RAM, HD of a half terabyte or bigger.
I'd like to not have to go over 600-700 dollars,

linpus linux lite
I just got a netbook. An Acer aspire one and I am completely new to linux. I have managed to install wine and I am trying to run spotify. It says there is a problem with audio drivers and can't produce a sound. Can anyone help? And keep it simple. I am very new to all this.
Does anyone know if there is going to be a linux version of spotify? I am beginning to think that this is my only
