Exim+dovecot and quota check in exim's ACL before real message routing.
Good day. I want to migrate from cyrus-imap to dovecot but I can not find replacement of one feauture presented in the cyrus-imap. It is LMTP. All mail users are virtual and mail works like: username at real-domain.com -> anotherusername at fake-domain.local. I whould like to check "delivery is possable" in the exim's ACL. In the exim+cirus scheme I use Callout verification from

Bug in Exim->Dovecot auth
Hi. I'm using SMTP auth with Exim authenticating against Dovecot's auth socket. My (excellent) SMTP test tool "swaks" (http://jetmore.org/john/code/#swaks) tries multiple auth mechanismus consecutively which leads to the following message in Dovecot's log file: Error: auth(default): BUG: Authentication client gave a PID 6738 of existing connection I'm not sure where to

Dbox and Exim
The Dovecot wiki [1] doesn't list either Exim, Postfix or anything else as supporting the dbox. I did some searching in the Exim archives and have found only one message mentioning dbox, sdbox or mdbox. [2] I think an RFC would go a long way towards getting the format supported. Has Timo, or anyone else, considered submitting an RFC to the IETF? My question was how are we going to use it

Solaris problem & exim. Please ignore it.
Please ignore my previous question.. as it turns out it's a bug/feature of fprintf(3C) and sockets under Solaris. Exim was using fprintf to output the AUTH string and for some unknown reason it was hanging, possibly because the input buffer on the file stream wasn't empty or something. After modifying the Exim's dovecot authentication plug-in to use write(2) instead of

Apache wakes-up inactive Exim
Had a surprising event on C 6.5. Exim was the only MTA installed. It was partially configured (with ACL, Router, Transport) and definitely not running. I was remotely testing a web page. A web page error condition invoked the embedded PHP mail() command. To my astonishment something in Centos woke-up Exim. Exim sent the email and then became inactive again. The Exim logs does not show any

what multimedia framework does Centos use
Hi, Thanks for quick reply. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Multimedia_framework There are many popular types of multimedia framework, such as gstreamer and directshow. I want to make transcoding program in centos 6.7 which is installed in a server. ffmpeg is used as the core of transcoding program. And I should choose one multimedia framework to do software development. Which framework is

Dovecot 1.0beta7: STARTTLS/SSL not wanting to start
Greetings - I have been looking at Dovecot with a view to migrating us to it from the Washington IMAP server on our Sun systems. To start our testing we first of all installed the pre-built version of Dovecot from the Blastwave (www.blastwave.org) community supported packaged software site. This was Dovecot 0.99.10.4 and we successfully got it working in our test environment: at first just

"QUOTA" CAPABILITY keyword advertised incorrectly?
Greetings - I'm having a frustrating time with mail clients not picking up Dovecot's QUOTA extension to IMAP. The problem is that the QUOTA keyword isn't advertised in Dovecot's response to a CAPABILITY enquiry until *after* the user has authenticated. Unfortunately I've yet to find a mail client that issues a CAPABILITY request after authenticating. Instead all do so
