Does libvirt abstract each and any vm specific command?
Hello,
my project still uses VBoxManage but I am inclined to switch to
libvirt, if possible, because I like the concept.
Some rather unusual commands are used by my project...
VBoxManage modifyvm "$VMNAME" --synthcpu on
VBoxManage setextradata "$VMNAME"
"VBoxInternal/Devices/VMMDev/0/Config/GetHostTimeDisabled" "1"
VBoxManage modifyvm "$VMNAME"

matrix correlations with different packages
Dear all,
I'm calculating matrix correlations with permutation tests and I got this
funny result. All correlation coefficients are the same with mantel.test
{ncf} and pcol {simba} but the two functions yield dramatically different
p-values (using the same number of permutations). Could anyone please
enlighten me what is causing the difference and which result I can trust?

headless VirtualBox on Centos
Hello listmates,
I am wondering if there is a set of scripts/utilities for automatically
starting and running headless (no X11) VM's using VirtualBox omn a CentOS 6
server. VNC/RDP access to the VM's would be fine.
Any help much appreciated.
Cheers,
Boris.

Caret train with glmnet give me Error "arguments imply differing number of rows"
Hello,
I'm training a set of data with Caret package using an elastic net (glmnet).
Most of the time train works ok, but when the data set grows in size I get
the following error:
Error en { :
task 1 failed - "arguments imply differing number of rows: 9, 10"
and several warnings like this one:

Ubuntu 16.04 libvirt-guests.sh [6917] - running guests under URI address default: no running guests
Hi
I have recently upgraded from Ubuntu 15.04 to 16.04 and now everytime I
shutdown my PC I get a black screen where it says "libvirt-guests.sh [6917]
- running guests under URI address default: no running guests" and the PC
just hangs forever and will not shutdown. I need to manually kill it in
order to shut it down which is a pain in the ass. I have done some
investigation and here is

Migrate existing Windows XP VirtualBox VM to Xen
Hi,
I''m trying to migrate a VirtualBox virtual machine to Xen, but I
haven''t been able to successfully boot it under xen (3.0.1 that comes
with CentOS 5.5). Thinking that the problem was converting the disk
format to a raw format, I tried converting the VDI disk with all these
options:
VBoxManage internalcommands converttoraw disk.vdi disk.raw
VBoxManage clonehd disk.vdi

miro from rpmforge appears to have dep solving issues
Hi folks,
Anyone know the whereabouts of libgtkembedmoz.so()(64bit) as it is
needed by miro-1.0-1.el5.rf.x86_64 (rpmforge)
I tried a whatprovides and have looked at epel as well as rpmforge - no
luck.
While I'm asking, I'm looking for an internet HD TV viewer - miro looked
interesting - any other products you know of?
TIA
Rob

Laptop recommendation
Hello,
I am looking for a laptop with the following specs:
Built-in GSM module
Trusted platform module
Support for these modules, as for the network (Ethernet + WiFi) for
RHEL/Centos6.
I tested Lenovo W540, and the WiFi is not detected. lspci shows:
