Centos 6.8 GDM possible bug: can't log into another user
Hello everyone, Since I upgraded to CentOS 6.8 last week, I am having an issue whereby I log out, and then it attempts to log me in as the same user. I then click on another user and try to log in, but it instantly blows me right out and back to the login prompt for the original user. I do have GDM set up to auto-login at boot to a particular user in /etc/gdm/custom.conf, but it has always

xhost + via Desktop centos 6.3 not working
Hello list, In the past we have instructed users to perform 'xhost +' from their centos desktop, then set the DISPLAY variable on a remote computer to forward their display back to the desktop. This does not seem to work on centos 6 - but it did work in centos 5. It works from a vnc session on the desktop machine, but does not work from the local desktop. We would typically use a display

X11 help please
The rgl package currently crashes R when running under Xvfb (the "virtual frame buffer" server), at least on MacOSX. It makes sense that it shouldn't be able to work there (it needs interactivity), but I don't know how to detect the problems before they cause the crash. Currently the error happens the first time you try to open an rgl window; when rgl calls XCreateWindow R

I've encountered a strange problem in CentOS 4.1. How to save a Gnome screen layout on CentOS 6.5 after logging off?
Hello everyone, A quick Gnome question that has vexed me. In CentOS 5.10, if I have, say, an X terminal window up on my screen, the next time I log in, it's there when I log in as an unprivileged user. That's because I can save the layout the way I want to; there's a checkbox for it to save the layout upon exiting. I see none for CentOS 6.5. So, my X-terminal isn't there when I

Cannot print on Centos 6.7
Hello everyone, I have been scouring the Internet for answers, wikipages, non-Centos pages, and I am stumped. I have a HP LaserJet P4014n. When I plugged it in via USB cable, it found it as a P4014, but in any case, it simply wouldn't print, so I deleted it, and tried to start from scratch. When I manually add the printer, it seems all is well, but it won't print a test page. In my

Firefox 3.0.8 released, but not showing up in mirrors?
Hello all, Several days ago, I noticed Firefox 3.0.8 was released for i386, but I haven't seen it on any of the mirrors. I know it can take a few days for mirrors to sync, but I think it's been 5 days now. Anyone see this package out there yet? ******************************************************************************* Gilbert Sebenste

Sick and wrong!
Karanbir, No one should ever have to go through that. I am sorry to hear that someone has done that evil deed to you. May they be forgiven, but know the pain that they have caused you and repent of their sins. And if there's something I can do to help, please let me know. ******************************************************************************* Gilbert Sebenste
