OT: Linksys router misbehaviour
I'm running a Linksys WRT54GL router from my CentOS-7 home server. Every now and then (maybe once every 2 days) the router's WiFi cuts out, and I've found no way to solve this except to disconnect the power from the router, wait 10 seconds and then re-connect. This always works. The router is running under dd-wrt. My question is - which makes it a tiny bit CentOS-related - does anyone

Testers needed for VoIP router solution
Hi all, We have put together a firmware for a range of inexpensive routers. It has been configured to provide optimum VoIP performance. We have internally tested it for number of months and it looks very good. You should be able to run it easily with 20+ phones on local network ( we still did not hit the upper limit ) assuming that you have bandwidth. Your VoIP will get prioritized over other

Attaching LinkSys WRT54GL to CentOS machine
I have a LinkSys WRT54GL router, which I would like to attach to my CentOS-5.6 server, to set up a LAN 192.168.2.* . The server is attached to the internet through a Billion modem/router which has a single ethernet outlet. The instructions for the LinkSys router assume that it is being attached directly to an ADSL modem. But for various reasons I want everything to go through my server. I wonder

Problem with WRT54GL router
I have a curious problem with an old WRT54GL router, which I use as a WiFi access point on my LAN: Internet->ADSL modem->CentOS-7 computer->WRT54GL router The router has always had a slight problem of losing connection every so often - it used to be every couple of days, but recently it has become much more often. My cure was always to disconnect the power from the router for 10

traceroute misbehaviour on dual-home using -i or -s
My Linux workstation (Mandrake 10.1 kernel 2.6.8.1) is dual-homed to two ADSL Internet providers. Card eth0 (192.168.9.250) is the default route and leads to an SMC router (192.168.9.254). Card eth1 (192.168.1.250) leads to a Linksys router (192.168.1.1). I''m not doing any NAT or PPPoE in the workstation - the SMC and Linksys handle it all. I know four commands that let you set an IP

Router for SOHO network - hardware considerations
Hi, Last week I finished installing a small network in a private school : one server (an old IBM X225), seventeen desktops (Fujitsu Siemens PIV 2.4 GHZ, 512 MB RAM, 40 GB HD), all running CentOS 5.5. One extra machine is acting as a router, in that it is installed between the DSL modem and the network, with two Ethernet cards, and it's taking care of DHCP, DNS, NTP and also acts like a

Linksys router and shorewall
I''m not a subscribed user, so please cc me on any replies (fier0@bigfoot.com). I know this has been asked a few times, but i have not been able to find a direct answer. I was using shorewall with 2 nics, and it worked fine, except if that linux box went down then nobody could get out to the internet (and the wife would kick my ass). I''ve now started to use my linksys

Problem with AT&T VPN
I'm running a CentOS-5.6 server, which in general runs perfectly. My setting is possibly a little unusual: ADSL -> Billion 5200S RC modem/router -> CentOS-5.6 HP MicroServer -> Linksys WRT54GL router . My daughter is just visiting me, and she has to contact her job using AT&T VPN on her laptop under Windows XP. Unfortunately this does not work on my system when connected to

Config for Asterisk with Sipgate behind Linksys Router
Has anyone successfully configured an Asterisk box which is behind a (NAT) router for Sipgate? I have mine behind a Linksys router and can successfully register and apparently call out but I get no incoming audio and can't be called from the outside. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Samsung CLP-325W network connection?
Anyone got this working over a LAN under CentOS? The instructions claim it is easy to connect after pressing the WPS button on printer and router. Sadly, I don't see a WPS button on my Linksys WRT54GL router. When I press the WPS button on the printer the WiFi icon flashes, but I don't see any attempt to connect in /var/log/messages on my CentOS-5.5 server. Any advice or suggestions

Vonage Linksys Router - Life after Vonage
I setup a vonage account last year, and cancelled it last night when I put my asterisk box together and signed up for a Broadvoice account to use with it. Now I would like to use my Linksys router as an MTA, but realize it is still programmed with all of vonage's proprietary information and I do not know how to clear it. I understand that just pushing the reset button will not do it.

PCI ethernet card for CentOS
I need to get a second ethernet card for my HP Proliant CentOS server, to attach a LinkSys WRT54GL router to. I see that there are many Realtek RTL8169S gigabit cards going for a song on eBay. Is anyone using one of these under CentOS? Do they work OK? (I used to have a couple of Realtek cards - not gigabit - and they worked fine.) Or does anyone have a strong recommendation for other cards? Any

Linksys PAP2 / RT31P2 + multiple G.729 calls
Hi, anyone can confirm if the Linksys's ATA and Router (PAP2-NA and RT31P2-NA) have the same limitation of just one G.729 call like the Cisco ATA 186 ? I'm testing both appliances here and found this issue but could not confirm this anywhere (nothing on the manual, no document or post from any user about this). In my tests they use G.729 only on the first call and G.711 on the

2 questions on CentOS firewall
I'm running CentOS-6 on an HP MicroServer with a Billion 5200S modem/router connecting to the internet. I'm running the standard CentOS-6 firewall on the server. (1) I can open port 22 on the Billion, allowing me to ssh in from outside. But for some reason I cannot ping the same address from outside. (I can ping it internally.) Why is this? I'm not sure if the problem lies with the

home routers
I'm looking for somehting like the standard house hold linksys/dlink router. Basically it needs to have at least 1x100mbit port, wireless G capabilitys and at least 1 x anolog voip/sip connection. I've found linksys's WRT54GP2 which appears to do what i want. Anybody use this? Does it require vontage's service? I'm looking for any recommendations. Thanks -- ~Shaun

Linksys BEFW1154 v4
I''m giving up on an old model Cisco AP350 (it was installed on the internal LAN) and installing a Linksys BEFW1154 v4 "Wireless-B Broadband Router" for my home setup. The settings do not seem intuitive when integrated with Shorewall. It seems to me that someone had done a write-up for this Linksys box, but I can''t seem to find it in the documentation. Is
