FC22: virt-p2v-make-kickstart/livecd-creator doesn't build
Hello,
I am trying to make a .iso to p2v some old windows servers, and I
installed a brand new FC22 server to build my images
I run
virt-p2v-make-kickstart fedora
livecd-creator p2v.ks
and I get the following error:

upgrade 7.4 --> 7.5: dbus broken
After a manual fix I have that, too. Point is that for historic
hosts this symlink doesn't exist. The upgrade fails due to dbus
becoming unavailable. And the next reboot fails, too, because
the symlink is not created automatically.
Can you confirm this?
Regards
Harri

Odd problem with updates to the recent CR
We started updating via CR over a week ago, before 6.7 was official, and
just today identified an issue.... For (alleged) security, the agency I
work as a contractor for runs SiteMinder, from CA.
#insert rant_against_CA.h
Anyway, starting late last week, we found issues - as in, its process,
which runs under, and is started by, apache, was suddenly pegging a CPU or
so. Trying to stop httpd, that

possible issue in Anaconda WRT processing %posttrans scriptlets?
This sounds really weird, bear with me.
I've put together a custom install CD derived from
CentOS-7-x86_64-Minimal-1810.iso.
I've added my RPMs in the mix, and have my dependencies lined up.
The installation of the RPMs fail, from packaging.log:

I can find no evidence that rpm does anything of the sort. httpd
restarts on upgrade because its maintainers included a command to do so
in the %posttrans scriptlet.

rpm scriptlet failed
I have a system (Centos 4.4 all packages uptodate) where almost every
rpm or yum operation fails with a message like e.g.:
error: %preun(a2ps-4.13b-41.i386) scriptlet failed, exit status 255
some times the error is on %post()
the last few lines of output from
rpm -e -vv a2ps
are
D: ========== --- a2ps-4.13b-41 i386-linux 0x1
D: erase: a2ps-4.13b-41 has 316 files, test = 0

rpm problem after recent yum update
After a yum update (yesterday), I am now unable to install any rpm
package. An example of the error message is duplicated below:
%pre(VMwareWorkstation-5.0.0-13124.i386) scriptlet failed, exit status 255
error: install: %pre scriptlet failed (2), skipping
VMwareWorkstation-5.0.0-13124
Could anyone help? Thanks in advance.

Trying to re-install ZFS drivers
What should have been a routine upgrade to ZFS 0.6.4.1-1.el6.x86_64
somehow failed, and now I've lost access to a 2T raidz2 array. I've
tried removing all zfs and related packages (spl*), then starting fresh.
For reasons that have have nothing to do with this problem (I don't
think), I'm still booted to kernel 2.6.32-431.29.2.el6.x86_64, and there
are no other kernels installed.

Bug in sernet RPM's postun?
Hi,
I was just wondering whether this possible bug with the Sernet Samba3
RPMs for CentOS 5 is known, since it has not yet been fixed.
When uninstalling the Sernet RPMs for Samba3 (in this case Samba 3.2.x)
the %postun scriptlet fails every time with:
# rpm -e samba3-3.2.0-36
/var/tmp/rpm-tmp.56356: line 2: fg: no job control
error: %postun(samba3-3.2.0-36.x86_64) scriptlet failed, exit status

yum update / kernal update failed - remove or repair
I have a VPS running C7. I ran a 'yum update' which included a kernel update. The yum update wasn't a total success because mariadb updates failed. However everything else appeared to work.
However, when I rebooted the server it did not restart. I have managed to get the ISP's support desk to boot the server by selecting the previous kernel, and I now have access to my box again.

build postfix rpm with mysql
hello list,
I'm trying to build a postfix rpm that has mysql support included.
I've found the line where I need to define mysql support but it seems
that I am being tripped up by some build dependencies:

error: Failed build dependencies:

Deleting a user?
Hello,
I've compiled linux-ha heartbeat into an RPM but when I try to install
